Pit Lights
 

Does anyone know of anywhere to get the pit lights from..Not neccesarily the Muchmore ones as i know they are like £70..Have seen people with plain ones..????

Check out Ottlites on ebay. A friend of mine has the small ~£23 one and its brill. I know someone with the bigger one (same as what stoff linked too with a different name) and thats great as well. Beats spending 70 big ones on Muchmore. Have you ever seen any of the soldering in their stuff? Its shocking. £200 tire warmers that look like a 2 year old put them together. Generally I think MM are well overpriced for sometimes badly made stuff.

We have the MM tyre warmers...but i didn't pay £200 for them..I got them off ebay

Just get the new Orion light - it's the nuts and works off ALL powers - job done! LOL

Just to answer your question about the soldering. Muchmore take exceptional care with component choice and the soldering, so I'm a little surprised at your comments having seen a lot of their work, although I respect your right to have an opinion.

All of the electronics are supported by a warranty and UK spares back up so if anyone has any issue with a product or failure of soldering, just follow the warranty process on the Muchmore website.

I don't ever recall a product being returned due to poor soldering.

Finally, hopefully I can assure you we have no 2 year olds assembling the products.

I would stress I haven't seen any failed MM stuff. But I have seen the insides of quite a few tire warmer cups that I'm afraid to say looked less than quality. Infact some of the connections were not actually soldered at all, which I was shocked to see considering the expense.

Obviously I'm sure no 2 year old were used in the production of MM products lol. I perhaps have just been unlucky with the things I've seen. I would hope it doesn't represent the majority of the rest of your catalogue.

Have to agree about Much More I do think that some of their products are over priced for what they are.

But on the other hand I do have a MM 24a power supply that I use twice a week and has never let me down.

Story about that........

Over at the worlds in Japan in 07. Much More were trackside for the event. Day one unpacking gear and getting pit ready. I was using the MM power supply as Japan is 115V. Plugged in the supply, puff n pop, magic smoke etc. So over to the MM stand, in my best Japanese (ie bow and point), power supply is duffed. No problem was the answer, call back over in a while it will be sorted. They had dude at the event for just such an occasion. So short while later unit was returned to me working as it has been ever since. Later on in the day guy from MM called over to the pit to make sure everything was working, he also asked if I had a Japanese power lead, told him I didn't give me a lead.

So you do pay the price, but the do look after the customer.........
