Racing - Sunday 6th Feb 2011

Hi,

Who's racing this week? I'm in again with the Durango :) (just maybe a change of ESC as I'm not keen on the Tekin power delivery).

Could be tempted for a 2WD run, but err that needs work after Petit...

Hope to see regulars and new racers at the track. If you haven't attended before PM me your race details.

Also looking for a volunteers to step up and help with running the meeting to relieve SteveB and myself more. I enjoy running the meeting, but equally am there to race too.. So organising people, setting up and laptop stuff.

Keep an eye on the weather - http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/11?area=SO31

Cheers,

Mikey :)

Having a weekend off RC and then depnding on weather may be getting some truggy setup time next week. Wish there were more days in the week as would love to be at torch too.

RWJParkes 02-02-2011 08:54 PM

Working away for three weeks, not down again till the 27th. Gutted.
Got a hot bodies D4 to play with too...anyone driven one?
Got it off ebay for £60, so if it isn't great then I haven't spent a fortune!

dibble34 02-02-2011 09:08 PM

i used to run one so may be able to offer the odd tip. TBH i didn't get on great with mine, but would be a good starter car at that price :)

RWJParkes 02-02-2011 09:13 PM

Yeah seems ok, only quickly run it around a carpark. I have a cat sx as well so I bought it as a back up and more for messing around with. Keeping the options open. Will definitely talk to you about setups....found a starting point on the HB website.

dibble34 02-02-2011 09:24 PM

Have look here http://www.petitrc.com/setup/hotbodi...CycloneD4.html

I always found that useful, have a look at the astro setups. May need to be a little softer as TORCH is quite bumpy still IMO, and it should be as off road :)

I use to run LOSI springs on mine, pink rear and green front.

robelmes 03-02-2011 06:18 PM

i'll be there with the 2wd

Crazy L 03-02-2011 10:23 PM

Oh look, my post has been deleted:thumbdown:

Bloody hell Mike, have you not got a sense of humour? It's just bit of banter you sour git.:p

jamiekerr14 03-02-2011 11:17 PM

I shall be racing-weather permitting think a few of us clanner's should be down. Please can we do a all dayer-not done one yet!:)

super gripper 04-02-2011 10:21 AM

Lets hope we can plan an all day'er.

And not just one off the cuff, some people have got other plans for the afternoon/evening cos we know its just a morning meeting as normal.

also with the number of rounds and number of finals, can we decide that at the beginning of the meetings and not near the end so people can charge up batteries etc etc ........

simoncrabb 04-02-2011 02:08 PM

I'll be down for my first look at the new track.

Will bring a shop, tyres, spares etc. Let me know (PM, email, phone) if there's anything in particular you want bringing.

We shall try and do our best re the number of heats etc. But it'll always be 4 heats + finals minimum. We try and give people as much racing as possible, but equally giving people time to wrench their cars etc.

As for an all day meeting, dates are being formed for the Summer Series and other possible events.. Summer events will be a set format (unless numbers are huge..) Those of us that run the meeting are busy outside of TORCH too, so not something we'll generally do at the drop of the hat. Maybe something once a month in the future, but remember we share our toilet facilities with the flying club and that'll restart in April I believe. I love my racing, but my plate gets fuller each week with work, TORCH stuff, my personal life and so forth... Just need to win the lottery, buy a cracking house and a nice bit of land for a track and paddocks...

Mr L, I've had a crap week and sorry didn't need to come on to here for annoying comments. So apologies if I haven't got a sense of humour at the mo.. Some other TORCH people got the brunt of it on Wednesday night too, so apologies to them too.

So apologies all round. As people who have raced and know me I'm generally pretty laid back. All be it I do get a lot of stick from Oople, I can't race anywhere without it being brought up... I'm all cool with it as lets face it it's helped get TORCH on the map!

I think everywhere I've raced when people say hey your mikeyscott from Oople and TORCH...

Apology accepted Mr Scott, although, I can tell you're not quite used to my piss taking nature, frequent users of other forums will know that I like to dish out/take a bit of banter/abuse:lol:.

So best just to take it on the chin (ooops, there I go again) pmsl:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: for the juvenile humour it really is.

See you all sunday for a bash....sorry, I meant race.

Dudders 05-02-2011 06:16 PM

Whats the choice of tyres at present for 2wd. Was going to EPR but might have to change plans.

Also, is this an AM meeting? What's the start time and apprx finish?

Yes an am meeting, with a circa 13:00 finish. Aim to be booking in from 9am and racing 09:30

Tyres ballistic pinks or greens with green Schumacher mini spikes would be my guess for a b4 in the damp etc.

Steve will have tyres and be best person to advise.

Also have a chat with Julian as he's a land rover nut.
