Which 13.5 BL motor for Touring Cars??

So... i'm currently running my touring car in the pro 13.5 class (advance speedos allowed) at the various clubs that i'm racing at the moment. I've got a Black Diamond speedo currently driving an ageing Hacker motor. The Hacker is notorious for being torquey but not for outright rpms so i'm finding that i'm starting to loose out against the quicker guys in terms of outright speed.

I race mostly at Kettering & Milton Keynes (both fairly small tracks) & Hinckley (quite a bit bigger) & I would like to have a go around Moto Arena... which is huge... what motor would you guys go for, & what is 'hot' at the moment?

Thanks

Dan

Speed Passion v3
GM Pro
Nosram Ballistic

All good motors with no issues that I'm aware of. With dynamic timing there's not much between these three.

I'm not sure how the Black Diamond compares to the more popular ESCs (Tekin, GM, SP). If you change motors you may still find you can't keep up on the bigger tracks depending on how good the dynamic timing is.

The new Trinity DUO 3 is proving VERY popular with 13.5 racers at present, as quick as we get any in they are being rushed out to dealers...

Graupner Sport 13.5... fastest 13.5 I've ever used.

Thanks for your replies.... I maybe in touch Darren ;)

Chris; I've heard about the Graupner motors.... are these the same as the GM Pro?

No, they're very different from the GM Pro ones, not BRCA legal either !

Tekin Redline, it is only losing out in torque to the 10.5's

Speed passion v3 for me. Runs very cool. Trinity motors (i found with the Trinity Nemesis) that they run very hot even if u get the gearing right. LRP X12 motors are very quick too

Graupner 13.5 for sure.

If you think what you have is the fastest then you have not tried a Graupner!

The resistance of the coils on a 13.5 Graupner are just shy of most 10.5 motors. Hence the speed.

Oh Graupner 13.5 is the same motor as a Corally 13.5 so either will do.

The Graupner Sport or the Corally equivalent hands down if you're allowed to run them!
So much faster it's unfair.

Neither of those motors are on the BRCA list, so I wouldn't be spending my money on them. Even at club level if you start winning, you'll soon be asked to use a legal motor instead.

Trinity DUO 3 are proving very popular......

HPI Flux Pro motor is very new and getting rave reviews!

Only RRP for £64.98 and you have the choice of a 12.2mm rotor aswell for extra tuning
