Big Bore vs Regular shocks

Hi guys,

Big Bore shocks are a current trend among RC manufacturers. But are they really "better"? If so, in what way? Please share your theories and experiences.
In theory I can imagine a
a) smaller temperature rise since there is much more mass that needs to be heated up. But has anyone ever had a problem with hot shocks that loose dampening with an electric buggy?
b) less pressure on the seals since the shocks work less on the limit and the seals are larger
In the real world I have not yet tested Big Bores. So that's why I'm asking.
