STEERING PLATE MACHINED ALUMINIUM???

went to rossmods today to purchase the above when I got there it was a black part, but on the TD DEX410R page it clearly shows a sexy silver part which is what im looking for, whats the crack with this? and are they all black? and why are TD advertising it as a nice chunky silver one? :bored:

this is the page im talking about

http://www.team-durango.com/race-cars/dex410r/

and this is the part thats being sold....

I might be wrong but it looks like the one you saw was from the R and the one on the TD website link you posted was from the "upgrade path". So from the non R.

captainlip 29-01-2011 06:49 PM

i have just checked and the one I recieved with the R is aluminium one already? :bored: so why would I spend £17 on another

acording to rossmods the 410 one or silver one doesnt exist, nor does it on the rango website.....

this is an odd one....condisering its advertised and an option part, one that doesnt exist......

JohnM 29-01-2011 07:06 PM

The full fat car has more holes on the steering link then the R's one, I think that's the main difference.

captainlip 29-01-2011 07:30 PM

but how do i get hold of the 410 version? aparently it doesnt exist even on td website

Adam Skelding 29-01-2011 07:53 PM

It exists on the website here.

I just typed in steering plate.

Hope this helps. They are in stock also.

yeah but they are the exact ones been sold in the shops today, black and dull, nothing like the pictures advertised on the TD website 410r page, although yes thats the one i meant for sale its not the one pictured on the 410r page.....does it make sense?

Knitter 29-01-2011 09:31 PM

I have both. The machined one is in a different color and in a different shape around the holes (one more) for the steering rods.

The one on the actual 410r on the kit page is the black pressed steel one.
The machined alloy one on the 410r kit page is shown along with all the parts needed to take a 410r to a 'full fat' 410.

If you click in the standard parts tab for the 410r the black steering plate is shown. If you click on the option parts the machined alloy one is shown.

Hope this clears it up.

got ya, so why is the option part not as bling as illustrated in the main 410r feature page?

the one i saw today in rossmods for £17 was just plain black....:bored:

the black one is the kit one from the R
the grey/brown one is the option for the R or the kit one for the full fat this one has an extra hole. check the part numbers on thier back

mbmodels in leeds will sell you the correct part

Going by the picture on TD website, it looks like the full fat one has changed colour from silver to like a gun metal colour??

Knitter 31-01-2011 09:13 PM

Same colour as the chassies etc. And the originalR one is in anodized Black aluminium. Punched out from sheet metal and not machined as the "option" one.
