Susp holder question xpro
 

I been to the indoor track tonight and :cry: I broke 2 chassi plates and a shock mount and a shock stay.

I have an aluminum suspension holder at the front and the chassis plate broke off right there at the same place where they join... Now I know thathaving alu parts strengthens it up but also puts strain on other parts that might not have strain on in the first place... Is that my problem having the alu susp holder??

Im now thinking when I get new parts that I might just swap back to the plastic and see if it happens again.

Another Q where can I get a little wing to go on the front of the buggy??

Or whats a good way to weight the front down a little more?

a few methods..

1 ) fit a low profile servo such as a Savox & make a brick out of lead weights & stick it behind the servo with a couple of weiights on the top of the servo for good measure (i've seen this done on a couple of rats / xpro's)

2) run cells & not LiPo or run weights along the battery bar, i've also seen people using brass battery straps

3) alter the rake of the suspension so the front is angled slightly downward more - this used to work well on old 2WD Tamiya's such as Hornets, Boomerang etc so may work on other cars but may require some set-up on more advanced cars of today as i've not tried this since i binned my Hornet some years back.

4) see if you can get (although you may have to make) a metal front brace / suspension holder, the one for between the wishbones or the skid plate.

5) stick blu-tac or plastercine into every nook & cranny such as under the chassis plate, the further forward & lower to the ground the better.

you can make a front wing out of an old rear wing, use the flat/kick up area of the center and trim to fit.

as for weight I run 40g under my servo on my xc2 , i allso did this while i ran the mad rat as well, lead weight from wheels is normaly used hower i have two 20g plates under mine and use the servo post to clamp it down.

Rudebits under servo weight. I ran mine for the first time last weekend and it was fantastic. Front didn't lift all day on high grip carpet and was a lot easier to drive.

I went to the local tire place and got these already with sticky on the back now its just a guessing game as to how much to put on or any recommendations?

I belive you remove the chassis bar at the rear that sits above the anti squat block to again more anti squat for this mod

im sure 4_cell will correct:)

Boil some water, put the front chassis plate in it and then let it cool down in the water. This should give the chassis plate more strength.

Broke another one today... are they weak or is it my driving?? I did bang into the side wall but not all that hard.

Maybe I should look at getting a bumper for a little bit more protection
Or is it the alu holder??
