Hi mate, moved this to the 'smelly stuff' section.

It depends what you are wanting to do with the car - I guess you want an 8th scale buggy? I've only raced the Hong Nor stuff myself, but even the RTR car was really good.

depends what you want to do with it, if you want to race, check out what local nitro clubs you got and what they race, if you want to play, buy a truggy, Ho Bao or Hong Nor do a good RTR kit

Hong Nor all the way!!!!

On my first time out with the car, never driven it before qualified 33rd at a UK national ... my previous car would have been lucky to qualify for loading into boot on a skip run ... LOL

:)Don't do it!!! go for a truggy instead much better than a buggy, HoBao Hyper ST or CEN Matrix TR Arena, go watch both buggies & truggies and then make a decision.
Or buy a buggy, watch the truggies and then think 'damn I wish I'd bought one of those instead':D

buggy or truggy

well different people like different things but for me buggys are where its at. truggys seem like more of a novelty class that at clubs like Slough are almost not supported through lack of interest!
Adrians always said he'd run a heat for them if enough turn up but in reality who wants to race against 2 other people
you can go to any club and race a buggy against a reasonable turnout ;)

Truggy or Buggy - I have both, Hyper ST & Hyper 7 pbs. Like both, but prefer Buggy. Check out the Hyper 8.5 and Ae RC8 for Buggies, or Hyper ST Pro and HN X2CRT (when it's available) for Truggies

:)We (me & jnr) only went back to nitro a couple of months ago, we previously had buggies but as we'd sold these a while ago decided on truggies. We went along to the local track and found they didn't have class for truggies but they let us run anyway in non points races. I think people were genuinely surprised at how our truggies performed and now there are at least 10 people with truggies. When the new season starts there will be class for them.
I don't claim that this is solely down to us turning up with them and the biggest drop will probably be in the MT class rather than buggies.
I'm sure on most tracks, except a really open sweeping track, a buggy would be quicker but someone new to nitro may get on better with a truggy.
If there's a track that runs both near richieb he may as well go have a look before parting with his hard earned cash, he may well still come down in favour of the buggy but he may be best to look first.:)
