Core-RC CODE 2.4GHz FHSS 3 Channel Stick Radio System

Anyone using the above radio gear and could give some opinions? Seems a cheap 2.4 set with enough adjustment to keep you busy plus 24 squid for additional receivers. My current KO esprit 2 40meg set is slowly dying and im thinking of replacing it with something new. I'd love the esprit 3 but they are alot of money for a tight budgeted club racer.

So is the Core any good? general feel, reliability, ease of use/adjustment?

Thanks

im looking at these for a second and 3rd radio set have the 1st core rc code and love it only thing that annoyed me about the 1st 1 was the aux switches but have removed them now(the new 1 doesnt have them).if there just as good as this 1 then there definitely worth the money!

Im in the same boat, either upgrade my KO to Spectrum which is £150 ish - £200 if I get it done properly, or buy a Core-RC CODE for £70, or pay 4 times more for the new KO !

Why are these radio's so cheap, and why is the KO so expensive ? There's loads of choice for wheel users for sensible money, but for sticks it's either very cheap, or very expensive !

I know there's the middle of the road Futaba, but the receivers are silly expensive, so if you need a few, as I do, it just gets silly.

opinion is very divided on these radios. half of owners love them, the other half want to launch them out of a window!

Best do a search on here and weigh up the pro's and con's.
That's what I did, and eventually bought a 2nd hand 3vc

mine is for sale

i think schmacher have now sorted the promblem by bring out the blue receivers which look like they have been totally redesigned.
My is for sale on here which begs the question maybe there should have been a recall on the item long time ago as soon that it was apparent there was and is a issue.

sorry for bumping up this thread, recently bought a Core-RC Code FHSS, in the battery compartment I see there is maybe a possibility to use a battery pack, nimh or lipo based; anybody know what kind of battery pack fits in there and where they might sell these?

currently using 8xAA batteries, but those are a pain to charge imho ;)

I have the Etronix version, happy with it!!

carpenterdean 03-06-2011 06:20 PM

I bought one of the first ones for my son, he complained a few times of the car not responding (but then again he complains about everything:woot:)
anyway he then switched to a wheel, so i put the core in my F1 and found no problems at all, however i know others who use them and they've had problems, similar to what my lad was moaning about.

jmke 03-06-2011 07:18 PM

had an servo started dying on me, which did cause issues with the receiver being "none responsive" but of course that was not related to the receiver ;)

for the price, I find the features on these radio's excellent; so much better than similarly priced solutions

thanks Smart_Racer! I've ordered from the link posted by rondoolaa, same price, but shipped from UK, quicker shipping ;)
packages from China/HK take 2-3weeks (or more) and have a tendency to get lost and or stuck at customs.

I've got the Etronix version (grey receiver), on the second one and that has just failed on me tonight!!!! It's the transmitter failing telling the car into fail safe mode because I had tried a new receiver.

What a steaming pile of s&*t!!!!
