12v Charger Issue

Hi all

Recently got hold of a cheap 12v batt supply, that was intending to use up EPR tomorrow.

Now being well prepared, tested the batt with my core udc 20 today and oops, when connected the charger to the 12v power supply the charger just flashes and not much else.

Would anyone know if i've bought the wrong kind of 12v power supply?

http://www.yuasabatteries.co.uk/y4-12-70-p.asp

Vital stats for the 12v supply are:

v2 8-12, 12v, 2.8ah, C20, Valve regulated sealed lead acid batt.

I thought this would be ok, but guessing I've gone and bought the wrong type of 12v supply for my charger

Cheers all

it should power the charger, but its no good for charging cells, it will give you 2.8 amps for an hour tops, you need a liesuer battery , mine is 110 AH

spose in theory as long as a batt can charge in bursts for up to around an hour total, then that could be ok for a race day tho?

Have got 3 lipos in total, so'll be interesting to see how well they last tomorrow before I have to ask someone for some spare electricity

Charge your batteries at home the night before a race and top up at the track.

Did just that

Amazing how little a lipo uses in a 5min heat, did top one up twice, but tbh, don't think really needed to.
