mark christopher 01-01-2011 01:24 PM

full size, it tell the drivers where they are on each lap,
rc its a flat surface to set your car up on, more from the onroad scene

captainlip 01-01-2011 01:27 PM

ah i wondered what they were all about, same use as f1 pitboards then?

Col 01-01-2011 01:44 PM

No, they are of no practical use at all.

I find a pitboard useful even in off-road. Simply as a flat surface, easy to work on and take reliable setup measurements from.

This is a race information pit board with LED lights. Connected to the loop it gives actual race position of each car as the race goes on.
Ie Heat, round etc and you can see car 9 is leading car 4 second etc.

If I want a flat surface I'll use my table.

Due to the nature of the production of cast acrylic sheet, the table is usually flatter than the acrylic pit boards.

I constantly use a pit board to work on in my pit area. The pit tables at my local track aren't always flat and this is how I can make sure I get accurate measurements for camber, toe, and ride height.
