what pinions you guys running?

have a few pinions but I opted to buy a 19t pinion to keep temps down abit.

what sizes you guys running.

19/87 on the 7.5 has worked well so far indoors. It thermaled out on a 21 opps :D

zippy 31-12-2010 05:48 PM

hi. i run a nosram istc 7.5 v3 21 pinion with no temp problems :)

captainlip 31-12-2010 06:00 PM

cool cheers guys, nearly stuck a 23t in  glad I bought the 19t i wont be running the fan on the nosram

steve73 01-01-2011 09:47 AM

21 with Tekin RS Pro and 6,5T
I ordered now 19, 20 and 22 and will see what happen with temperature and speed
(I think that the change of the pinion is too complicated at the DEX 410)

19T seems abit low for a 7.5 i was running a 24T on a 7.5 no heat problems with no fans either Mainly been running a 6.5 all last year on a 22T or 23T and a ran a 5.5 on a 21T with no thermalling problems

yep, similar to a B44, maybe they will release a DEX410.1 then change the motor mount similar to a B44. hahaha....

captainlip 03-01-2011 10:38 AM

ran the 19t/87spur and was fine no thermaling but the esc was very hot to tough, the motor was to but it is an x12 so expected, good job the the chassis acts as a heat sync

Paul

Our indoor club nights are on a very small, low grip track where we see <9 sec laps now and then. Just can't use anymore speed.

I've been running a 10.5 for a few months now in the Cat SX there and apart from the last few feet of the straight I'm just as fast as anyone running a 6.5.

the 7.5 on a 21 pinion like I said thermaled out at 200oF so I stuck it onto the 19

Big G 04-01-2011 12:05 AM

Ran the car at Kiddy track today and it felt very undergeared on the 19t pinion. Will obviously be taking this up a few teeth when we race there again.

Northy 04-01-2011 11:08 AM

7.5 on a 19? I'd be on a 23/4 to start with I think

Big G 04-01-2011 12:05 PM

yeah I'll be on that when I go back outdoors, but for our small track the 19t keeps the temps down
