New Factory B4

Ok this might be a minor rant BUT!!! When did the Factory B4 become so s***!!! i just brought one an put it together, and im abit disapointed tbh. the difference between the normal kit and the factory kit doesnt seem to be much at all. the main difference is the threaded shocks thats almost all thats different that i can see. wot is the point in paying extra for the kit when it doesnt have much differnt. totally not worth it!!!

It has 'some' extra's which are better, mainly all the alloy bits which are nice, but get cancelled out from all that brittle and conductive carbon

IceMike 23-10-2007 07:14 PM

but i thought the whole point about havein the more expensive kit was that it was better!! not cos it had more bling!! they could have cut the form inserts right, true i ant ever gunna use them anyways, but when ya puttin ya new kit ya try putting them on just so it looks good an new. there the wrong size they wont even fit on properly. and i would have thought that it would come wit factory thumb screws but it come wit the g** body clips to hold the batts in!! i have a b44 on order but it makes me wonder wot extras i will need to make the factory kit a decent car thats going to be useable

the FT b4 also comes with a ball raced steering rack as oposed to the team one that has funny gold things. also the servo saver spring is stronger.

bigred5765 23-10-2007 07:52 PM

mike theres plenty of things different on the ft kit
all parts are made from carbon instead of plastic
alloy front brace, threaded shock bodys, unobtainiun shock shafts,
ballraced steering, stiffer servo saver spring and blue bling nut,
ft front axles, carbon battery strap, and the foam inserts are supposed to be hugh and look to big to fill out the super soft rubber that comes with the car, all pro line inserts are like that

matt 23-10-2007 07:58 PM

And the blue motor mount.

IceMike 23-10-2007 08:00 PM

still doesnt seem worth it to me

bigred5765 23-10-2007 08:03 PM

if u buy a team car the shocks and the alloy front brace are must haves, and alone make it dearer

IceMike 23-10-2007 08:06 PM

yer thats the reason i got the FT one, for the shocks, butto me there just doesnt seem to be much else one the car thats any different, and i thought that the graphite chassis isnt wanted on english tracks seen as its abit stiff and doesnt flex enough

mattym0310 23-10-2007 08:17 PM

well before you bought the car you obviously knew wot you were getting, so why get it when you could have had a team car and then bought the threaded shocks? to buy the team car and the threaded bodies it would have cost about the same as a FT kit. remember you also get the bearings in the steering, they cost £12, you get the front brace, a must have. so you get a good deal

IceMike 23-10-2007 08:24 PM

ok, another question. y does the Ft kit come with the same old B4 shell, y not sumat better an sleaker, Bj4 thats different shells for the normal an then the worlds.

showtime 23-10-2007 08:33 PM

you get lightened diff outdrives on the factory team too :p
there are quite a few subtle differences & they do all add up!

sounds like you would have been happier if it had chrome wheels & some go faster stripes instead

mattym0310 23-10-2007 08:34 PM

because the normal shell doesnt fit the worlds. the chassis is different shaped at the back due to the batteries being positioned further backwards

Tom3012 23-10-2007 08:42 PM

sound like you would of preffered a losi cr :p

PaulRotheram 23-10-2007 08:48 PM

i bought my FT B4 an it was tooooooo light ive had to weight it down to make it handle the jumps something like...

mattym0310 23-10-2007 09:00 PM

my FT b4 used to weigh a ton, now i have the x6.. and even that is obese compared to what my b4 was
