New paints?

OK guys, there's probably another thread already, but hey ho...string me up.

Flipped my car yesterday at Batley, and managed to land it awful. Back corner of the shell (ZX5) landed square on a pointy bit of concrete and caved it right in...had to "pop" it back out, but alas all the paint is now shattered.

I tend to use pactra paints, but as many of the pots are nearly empty now, and I've just mullered my shell I might switch to something else (and get a proper airbrush while I'm at it!!

andy ideas?

go get yourself some Faskolor paints, use Faskrome for sealing colours off from colour bleed and unless you are going to be busy, I can give you a web addy for some cheap, dual action gravity feed brushes.

With Faskolor, because the paint is relatively thick compared to pactra, it works far better on gravity feed, as you are not trying to blow paint out at the same time as trying to suck it up out of a jar.

Once painted, leave the shell somewhere warm for a few days (airing cupbaord is good if it is dry in there) as the paint has to lose it's 'water solution' from it, once done, stuff is as hard as any other paint out there.

Yea Andy, I'd definaltely reccomend Faskolor / Createx. I like it mainly because it cleans up easily.

and it don't stink the house out either. One thing to get as well is some airbrush cleaner, works a treat especialy if you are having days/weeks between paint jobs, just take the spray head off, dismantle and leave it in there soaking, flush the brush and wipe the needle down.

DCM,

I'd be interested in that web addy to if you don't mind. Also where can you get the paint?

Cheers

Most decent model shops can get Faskolor (Helger stockists) and the airbrush is

Hope you don't mind Jim.

the most expensive bit is getting a supply of paints in stock and buy your scalple blades by the small box rather than individualy.
