1 million erghh, that's probably why the guaranteed special delivery service is currently suspended, time scale wise......mind you made me laugh tho, went to post a parcelforce 48 parcel, was told that this service was suspended (timewise) but would I like to pay more for parcelforce 24, which was also suspended

Our postman was saying they where going to be working today to try and clear the backlog, we're stuck here in NI as they've closed all the airports so no mail is getting in or out...

But the gear I ordered from the same guy on Friday came 1st thing sat morning and we had snow not as much as you tho:thumbsup:

big p 19-12-2010 03:47 PM

our postie turned up today in his jeans and hoodie with a 3s lipo for me.

mdb_75 19-12-2010 05:09 PM

I don't think our posties were working at all yesterday (Saturday). I drove to the sorting office as they have the latest collection post box outside. The front gates were chained up and there was about twenty vans parked up all covered in about 20mm :eh?: of snow!! Didn't see a postie about all morning either and we normally see a few. Shocking if they weren't delivering as the non-side roads were mostly clear.

I have had that, recorded is fine, but they don't give a rats arse as long as someone signs for it, they just take it to the door, If like happened to me they take it to the wrong place and the oap signs for it cos he thinks that is what he has to do there job is done, took ages to sort the cock up,and royal mail were very unintrested, I had to find out where the parcel had gone:mad:.

I think the stand point is, If the wrong person signs for it, it's not the PO's problem! As if that person is not the name on the parcel, or the right address and not expecting anything they should not sign....If they do they are being dishonest:woot: the postoffice has done it's job:cry:.

Sadly the only reason I use recorded with all my parcels is so I can proove to the reciver that I have posted the item, by sending them the track and trace number

Things are getting desperate. I,ve just had a DHL delivery by a private 4x4.
I,ve never seen that before. Are they paying the public with 4x4 to deliver now in snow.

No.

He or she works out of DHL depots for another company who deliver parcels that are considered small enough for them. That's how it worked a few years back when I worked for DHL part time.
