X Pro building tips

So my X Pro arrived today screaming to be built.....:D

Are there any build tips I should be aware of during the build?

Also I read somewhere about drilling out the shock pistons!!? Do you still just keep to the 2 holes (or do you drill more) If so to what size?
Are there any other make of piston that fit the X Pro shocks?

Oh and some gearing advice please, going to put in a LRP Sphere with a 10.5 motor

Thanks in advance
Lee

if you want other options regarding the shock pistons kyosho ones fit

the car build is quite straight forward, i used associated grease instead of the std in the diff. only downside is the quality of the screws so be sure to use good tools!

drill them out to 1.2 all round keep just 2 holes as for the gearing i range from a 26 to a 28 when running mine

I did a quick step by step for a Macnum on my blog... not a huge amount of info :) .. it's the same base chassis.

Only drill out the rear. Leave the fronts as standard.

Hmm really I didn't like mine like that as I always run my cars very soft

Well finally built the X Pro, and was just wondering if others find that the gearbox when 1st built is quiet stiff  And also the arms only just drop under there own weight when it's got the hubs fitted (quiet a tight fitting!!)

Looking forward to giving the buggy a run

Also took a few pics of the rear T plate and was wondering if it's the old or new one (sorry for the rubbish pics  ) ?

is there a new type rear chassis ??

I know there is a new type front chassis

to make the build easier i tap out all the holes with a M3 x 0.6 tap the screws go in nicer and then there is less stress on the plastic parts

That's the new one mate :) it's been like this for about 9 months :)

I highly recommended this, it definatley helps ease the stress on the parts, and tear downs, parts replacing, assembly.
Im currently building the T8 (X8), taking a bit longer but worth it imo.
