o0ple's Trade Room

Who would like to see it locked down so only the poster or admin can edit the ads in all sections?

You've only got one vote so chose carefully

This has just happened to one thread. Not a big issue but a little annoying for the poster.

Lets ignore the fact for now that the poster didn't put a price. That can always be sorted out by admin if one of you use the report button. But it would be nice if users would put a price and or pics with the ad.

Sorry i just found it funny shouldnt of done it really but couldnt of resisted but the guy should of given idea what he was after. Alot of the other forums nowadys wont let you put offers on because of things like this tbh.

But i agree perhaps lock the thread so ppl can do the same also it stops the bumping too

i picked locked as if some one asks for offers its sometime because there not sure and want to see whats around offer wise

Funkymojo 30-11-2010 06:05 PM

I prefer it locked. If it wasn't locked, i'm sure it we'll get more than 1 bump per day and some might even post irrelevant posts and make the for sale thread into a discussion thread thus bumping the thread with every reply. By doing this, it will push all other posts to page 2 real quick and we don't want that. I'm all for keeping the thread locked.

offers

i hate this sort of ad , members should decide what they want for their gear and put the price on it this way its a lot better for anyone wanting to buy .

Ross 30-11-2010 06:10 PM

I've voted.
The only thing that i personally find annoying is if your searching through the sales section and i find something i'm interested, but when you go in to the post it been sold and not marked as sold, or the description has been removed.
It would be good to see the description and price left in tact, it will give other sellers a good reference for there sales, or other people a chance to see if what they are buying from someone is about the right price or not.

Just my 2pence worth :)

I already tested the prefixes - so you'll know somethings sold before you even look at it. But it's not perfect yet so it's not been implemented. Soon.

That sounds brilliant Jimmy

I've now set the WANTED and non-RC trade sections so the user can choose to lock or unlock the thread on their own.

It's only set for 'registered' users - so there might be a couple of user groups that can't do this, but let me know.

You should have a 'Close this thread' option when making the original advert, or possibly be able to lock it afterwards elsewhere.

Best of both worlds?

Seems as if the J man has solved this debate rendering this poll useless hehe

Good job J man:thumbsup:

Dudders 30-11-2010 06:31 PM

I'm a member of many forums and all are starting along the lines of you must state a price to BIN and also a delivery estimation time and price. Works well and you can reply to ask q's...

As above, people who ask for offers get exactly what they ask for.
