Cheap 2.4 digi sytem

As I have an intermittent fault on my extremely expensive radio gear, rather than buying again I'd rather get an emergency backup in case of disaster!! So I was wondering if anything cheap fits the bill as below:

1. Digital (I use digital servo's so assume I need this?)
2. 2.4ghz as it's hassle free
3. Has subtrim
4. Preferably model memory but not necessary
5. Cheap cheap cheap

Anyone know what fits the bill? How about the core system, is the latency terrible (I mean really bad rather than just slightly slower), is it reliable?

Any other ideas?

I've been using the core system for around 6 months now and it's been ok. It's got 10 model memory on it and lots of other stuff that i don't really use . The only problem i've had with it was this weekend when i managed to snap the Aerial wire in the receiver, but i put a post on here and chi3f pointed me in the right direction. I also see a lot of them at meets so they must be half decent. Good vaule for money me thinks .

I use the Etronix Pulse, it's exactly the same as the Core RC and it's £10 cheaper. :woot:

Had a problem with the first one I got but got it replaced and it hasn't missed a beat so far. Sticks are a bit long but nothing that a Dremel couldn't fix.

I'd be less disappointed dropping the Etronix than say an Esprit 3.

Is the KO better? Yes.
Does the KO have a faster responce time? Yes.
Am I good enough to tell the difference? No.
Would I rather have £300 in my pocket? Hell yes.

the core system is very good for the money. And as dpackster says unless you are F1 level then you probably won;t notice any lag in the system.

cheap and reliable for me so far.

if the sticks are a fraction long then you can unscrew them and take out the cone shaped spacer, then screw the stick tops back on, makes then 4-5 mm shorter

Is it this one?

If it's digital it'll work my digital servo's won't it, or do I need a capacitor etc? Does it have sub trim?

Actually, guess it's that one!

Not missing anything am I, should be compatible with all servo's?

Do I need a power cap?

i use the core code its excellent value for your money,i had a few problems with the receiver cutting out because i was using 4cell nimh so made a power cap for it and was fine then but using 6cell nimh or 2s lipo you wont need 1.
