my "new" rc10 b3 project

so a few days ago i bought a nice b3 as a project off flea bay and have spent the past few days boffing up on the intraweb...

the car came with:
- mtronics eco 27 esc
- trinity 19t motor
- dodgy servo and receiver
- acoms techniplus transmitter
- purple motor plate
- rpm bumper and gear cover
- j concepts shell

picture of the car on the day it arrived in the team associated forum!

since having landed the car ive managed to do the following:

- removed and cleaned front and rear shocks, turnbuckles (will do full service later on)
- noticed rear arms had incorrect screws holding shock to arm so ordered replacement arms and screws from the US
- bought bionic 4000mah 40c lipo hardcase from flea bay
- just bought a bantam bc6 charger from a nice chap on here
- bought a stock of corally type connectors to make my own esc to lipo connectors

next steps
- replace the rear arms and refit shocks
- fire up battery with the new charger
- try running the car with the new battery
- enjoy it for a while and thrash my bro's recently acquired tamiya hotshot

in the near term
- upgrade to brushless esc and motor (any suggestions welcome)
- new radio system (thinking of a used futaba 3gr)
- savox or futaba metal geared servo
- restore plastics to original items including new body (but need some hot paintwork), gear cover and bumper

my thinking is that ill tidy up the car and think of the running gear as a sunk cost and change the car when i get bored and buy another project

Servo im using a futaba s9551 with 30g behind servo and 10g either side on the small areas on chassis. Im using lrp sxx tc esc and 6.5 brushless. However i have a losi combo in my truck and is really nice and may be more preferable for you. Also its good value for money but you will need to stick the fan on chassis instead of esc as the body wont fit.
