The five P's of racing...
Perfect Preparation Prevents Poor Performance PS I used to take a big bag of tools and a big toolbox racing with me... never used 90% of it. Now I fit everything into a medium sized sports bag. Basic tools, parts box for the car, tyres and additive/cleaner, car, transmitter, charger, pitboard and towel. That's it. |
in my pit bag i have
car- a fastrax multi tool, velcro , one brush. errr thats it In my hauler I DO NOT HAVE handset, lipo, lipo charger, servo, spare servo, brushless system, spare brushless system Scalpel set, soldering iron, camber guage, ruler, files, velcro, Shoe Gl , headache tablet, mini clamps to hold shit together, small long nose pliers, small short nose pliers, small side cutters, , screw drivers,, reamer, vernier caliper, curved scissors, spare wires (red, black, blue, orange, yellow, sensor leads etc), spare esc fan, spare reciever, spare MRT PT, non slip mat to lay out on my pit table to catch screws etc, magnetic tray thing, tyre bands, superglue, superglue activator (NuclearRC), power supply, charger, balancer, lipo bag, spare deans connectors, spare bullet connectors, cable ties, brake cleaner, kitchen roll, solder, lock-tight, fag lighter to shrink heatshrink, heatshrink, turnbuckle wrenches, ball cup popper-offer, biro, sharpie marker, tamiya cross wrench, spektrum bind tool, afew drill bits, associated B4 plastic tools, dremel, dremel tools, volt meter, tiny drill bits for pistons, dremel charger, phone charge, ipod charger, spare transmittor batterys, carrier bags for rubbish, extension cable, socket wrenches for wheel nuts, pit board. :):):) |
I started off with afew cheap tools from the £1 shop and then just developed my tools/etc from experience.....
Im one of those people who would rather carry excess, than have to retire from a meeting cos I didnt pack something :) Oh, and add "shock stand" and "car stand" to that list :) If you want to be gash (which I am) just ream 4 x 15mm(ish) holes into the lid from a big empty can of brake cleaner/etc and use that as your stand..works a treat :) |
Bruva Millz,
Thats probably why we only ever see you racing once a year, and when you do race your so busy trying to borrow tools that we dont get time to catch up :D :p |
all a man really needs to race is a car ready to run , charger ,handset and thumbs
anything else is for pissing about when your not racing |
Going from Cris' list, I have
soldering iron, camber guage, velcro, small long nose pliers, small short nose pliers, small side cutters, all imperial hex drivers, screw drivers, all metric hex drivers, curved scissors, spare wires (red, black, blue, orange, yellow, sensor leads etc), spare reciever, superglue, power supply, charger, balancer, lipo bag, spare deans connectors, spare bullet connectors, cable ties, solder, heatshrink, turnbuckle wrenches, ball cup popper-offer, tamiya cross wrench, spektrum bind tool, afew drill bits, dremel, dremel tools, tiny drill bits for pistons, carrier bags for rubbish, extension cable, socket wrenches for wheel nuts, phone charger I'm missing quite a few bits compared to Cris, these are the ones I consider priority Scalpel set, ruler, files, brush, reamer, vernier caliper, non slip mat to lay out on my pit table to catch screws etc, magnetic tray thing, kitchen roll, lock-tight, fag lighter to shrink heatshrink, biro, sharpie marker, spare transmittor batterys, pit board etc..... |

|
It doesn't matter how many tools you have in your hauler because the chances are the one you'll need is the one tool you haven't got!
|
