schumacher cat sx mud guards!

hi there,

at my last meeting i decided i would try and make some rear mud guards that you normally find on a nitro buggy but for my cat sx. because i race on the grass the grass gets tangled around my rear drive shafts and in my shocks which is a pain to clean! here is some pics:

because my brother races touring cars there is usually a few broken bodyshells laying around the house. so i cut the rear side windows out and trimmed them so they where a nice shape and repeated this until i had one for each side. i then driled one hole for the cable tie and one hole for the screw that holds the rear hub in (very similar to nitro buggy mud guards!). i covered mine in chrome tape and fitted like shown below.

i will test them in a fortnights time and show the results.

what do you guys think?

many thanks

lewis

That takes me back abit!. Been 17 years since I raced on grass and we used this type of device on my Lazer ZX-R - we used plastic lexan though so metal is a bit advanced...

He's used lexan aswell..

They work to an extent, used that sort of thing on my pred... Good idea though! You ca. Also try putting deflectors on the rear of the bodyshell to help stop mud and grass getting to those
