What has it got to do with the FIA how McLaren prepare their cars? If they were developing new parts, but only had enough for one car (which does happen sometimes), would they stop them putting them on one car?

Like the Stewards in Hungary penalising Alonso on the grid and taking away constructor points for what was an intra-team issue (the drivers holding each other up, etc.)

The FIA and FOM need to sort out the customer car row so that my mate can have an F1 seat with Prodrive in 2008...

i think it's a bit pathetic to be honest.

i just don't think that Alonso can take the pressure of his rookie team mate beating him.

Totally agree with you MattADH on the prodrive thing - that needs sorting asap. Be good to see your man in that seat, as he could actually be quite dangerous;)

This is the first I've heard of this and I think its stupid. Mosley is determinned to put the stoppers on Hamiltons charge, and back ferrari for some reason.

To be honest though if Hamilton didn't win it, I'd rather see Raikonen win than Alonso.:)

Can't wait for Prodrive to enter though. Mr Richards is bound to succeed with a works outfit.

Doesn't really matter what the FIA or Maclaren do.

Alonso & Hamilton will tangle and disable both cars in the process leaving a Ferrari one two, with Massa winning @ home & Raikkonen 2nd and winning the Championship by a single point :D

My brother in law was going to put 100 quid on hamilton to win the championship even before it started....just for a laugh....but he didn't.

Now he wishes he had.:D

This something I find interesting. all the years we've been slaggin schuey off for winning everything in F1, and now its the other way round, with us having the decent driver. Although, I wouldn't say its the same. after all, who's won more races this year? Kimi! The only thing Hamilton is guilty of is being VERY consistent. Technically you could win the championship without winning a single race.

The others are just jealous.;)

I hope not, that is the sole reason why I found Alain Prost to be one of the most boring drivers ever in F1.

So far Lewis has yet to realy prove his worth, however it has been quite a positive start to his career:)

the thing with prost though, is that he wouldn't take that many risks, whereas hamilton does, he takes those risks to acheive that consistancy.:) which is a good thing.

this is just typical of the sport, as soon as someone is achieving then they are slated.if he was rubbish he would also be slated, as he has been backed by a team from 8 years old, so he should be top of his game.
in reallity he has brought more viewers to F1 after it has been in the dumps for a while, now they have that they have gone back to messing everyone about.

How do you work that one out? Try finding any other F1 star who has won 4 races in his first season, multiple string of podiums and been more aggressive than all the top runners put together....unless your getting him mixed up with the rattled Alonso? ;)

What i'm really getting at is Lewis has done one season in a car far superior to the majority of the rest of the field. Admittedly he has performed very well, however only time will tell if he can cross the line between being a very good driver and someone just that level above (think Senna or Schumacher who could just somehow manufacture the win when it should not have been possible in a car that was less than perfect)

PS: I'd like nothing better than seeing a British driver back at the top of F1:)

It should be good next year because they'regetting rid of all the gadgets (traction control etc.) so we will see if Hamilton has good car control. But technically, the young guns should floor the olders, because they've just come up from GP2, so are used to running cars with now TC.

This is the only guy in the history of motor racing to win EVERY Championship he has entered, and come into F1 to score more points and wins than anyone else has managed in their first TWO seasons.

(I'm also quite fond of the fact that Lewis has now scored more points than Button did in five seasons, and four times as many wins as Button's seven (I think) seasons in F1! Remember, he was our next, sure-fire World Champ - not as long as he can draw breath IMHO!!)

He still has to drive the car, its like anything just because you have the best does not make you the best, you have to be able to use it :)
