B44.1 Gear diff

Just wondering if this will be made avalible as you now have the option on the b4.1 ft, also does the b4 gear diff fit in the b44? if it does get made avalible it will greatly improve the b44 as only yesterday i had to put a new crown an pinion gear in my b44.

The B4.1 gear diff won't fit in the B44, too different.
Some people have fitted the durango diff into the B44 apparently tho.

A geared diff wouldn't stop you stripping gears, its only if you're melting diffs that a gear diff would be needed.

Ive never stripped any b44 gears but I know people that have. Its usually down to the slipper not being set right and the mesh not being set right ;).

SC10 geared diff can be run in the B4(.1), but no way would it go into the B44(.1) as they are completely different.

If your crown gear was killed I would check your shims are correct as I never did that gear racing near enough twice a week for the year I owned the B44

ill check tomorow the slipper as the shims are per kit manual, not sure which one the crown or pinion is but the small one had white ish teeth on it and the big one had the tops of 2 teeth missing and had been squashed between the gears

Basically ignore the manual, shim it by feel..you need a tiny bit of backlash movement between crown & pinion

Yeah i've been running the durango diffs for a while, they have pros and cons aswell. The outdrives are ruined after about 4 months, but my original B44 outdrives were as good as new after running them for over a year. The durango gears seem pretty durable though haven't worn any out yet.
