What would you suggest or buy here, totally stuck

hi guys i have just bought a durango dex410.first buggy for 14 odd years its been a while since i last raced(5 years) and im a bit miffed with whats at the top of the tree for SERVO,SPEEDO,MOTOR.

in my tc i had 1.LRP QUANTUM 2
2 KO SERVO 2343
3 brushed peak advantage 10x2

can any of you suggest a top 3 in order of servos and speedos as to what they run in buggys at this time, from the best to last say.i know their much the same but im not to much of a novak fan.

i will be running MOD with low turns so a speedo with no limit it would be.

i quite like to run a LRP speedo and ko servo but i know that there are tekin and savox. some guys are saying the tekin isnt as important if your running A MOD motor to a stock and so run an lrp or other.

again there lrp motors, gm and speed passion ? again which would you run and what would you say is best?

a top 3 on speedo, servo and motor would be very greatful if you can take the time to help me here.

thank you

Speed Passion GT2.1 Pro Speedo
Savox Servo fastest you can afford.
Speed Passion motor, I like the V2 however there is a V3 now. 5.5t for a 4wd.

u say the fastest you can buy id also consider the torque the servo has

I think you need a low profile servo for the Durango i use the SC1251mg

Northy 12-11-2010 07:18 PM

Matty, do you own a DEX? I don't think so as FULL SIZE servos fit no problem. :p

I wouldn't go for the fastest servo I could afford, I'd go for a slow-ish one. The steering is high geared in a Durango so a really fast servo can make it twitchy and hard to drive.

DS1015 is also my choice. It'll be fit and forget! :)

What I have just got:

Tekin RSpro

Speed Passion V3 6.5T

Savox servo-pref low profile for durwango

MRD 13-11-2010 12:25 AM

Orion VDS-1007/Savox equivelant £65
LRP Sphere/SXX TC £120
LRP X12 6.5 £60

Thats what Ive been running in 4wd mod for two years and Ive not had a single problem.

It should all fit in a Durango.

Thanks for your help guys...so just to confirm the normal size servo does fit the durango no problem.

i see there aint really a bad servo out there as long as the speed and torque are sufficient then? and around the 50-60 quid mark

jamiekerr14 13-11-2010 11:33 AM

Yes... any of these brands tbh.. HiTec Savox-My choice-Futaba-KoPropo-....

Yes a standard servo fits no prob's mate, i'd also second what NORTHY said DS1015 from AE is great as is the SC-1258 from savox. :)

paulc 13-11-2010 12:01 PM

Yes normal size servo's fit fine :)

I'm using and Ace 1015 servo in mine like Northy said fit and forget mines been in since christmas since i built the car !!!!

RogerM 13-11-2010 12:10 PM

+1 for Speed Passion GT2 ESC and V3.0 motors (either 6.5 or 5.5 will get the job done)

I try to use Futaba servos these days

Rich D 13-11-2010 04:20 PM

Nothing wrong with the KO 2343 servos now, i still use them in my TC and 2WD buggy with a KO 2413 ICS in my 511 4WD

Martin Wallace 13-11-2010 07:59 PM

brilliant thanks again guys.
