As you probably already have a lipo charger, why dont you use something like this

not 100% certain on whether this would fit in your tranny, you will have to check sizes, there may well be other uk suppliers aswell, hope this helps

i've got the lrp "flat 8" type in my futaba wheel, and i've got to say it's been one of the best things i've bought! only needs charging 3 or 4 times a year, and then it's still 11 volts or more!

where to get batteries, made to your specs

this is a great place to buy batteries,
it is a battery specialist based in wales, uk
very cheap and well made,
i got my futaba 3vcs handset battery from here, a 2200mah one,

they will fit tamiya, jst or futaba plug ( see drop down menu next to "add to basket" button )

plug

do your battery and reciever plugs look like these at either end of the wire in the pic, if yes choose futaba in the drop down menu...

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/31...showimage.html

or if your plugs on the battery tray and transmitter look like the picture below then you need to select jst from the drop down menu,

http://www.4-rc.com/images/Connector...ector-FzPJ.jpg....

also 8 batteries would be 9.6 volts as each battery is 1.2 volts

so you need a 9.6 volts battery pack

i've had a look on the team associated web site and i'm thinking the battery below is the one you want which is exactly the same as the one i purchased for my futaba transmitter...

http://www.component-shop.co.uk/asse...600aa-s-01.jpg......

if either of the plugs are correct and the pic above looks the same as your battery then you will find it on the web page below for 10.20 uk pounds, and its a crackin battery that lasts me a few meets between charges
