World Water Speed Record Attempt

According to TV news this morning it's going to happen on Coniston Water in the Lake District today.

Any more details?
Typical in this country that we don't support such events. I suppose there will be a two line report in a local newspaper after the event.....:(

northmeade 04-11-2010 08:41 AM

i can't find anything on it, but if anyone does would they post details. I'd love to go and watch that.

Radish 04-11-2010 08:51 AM

If it wasn't for the fact I'm miles away, I'd love to see it too.

BlueBird is due out next year though :)

Now the original bluebird WILL run again and relatively soon - they have progressed amazingly rebuilding it over the last couple of years. That will be something to watch out for !

Ive still got part of the Bluebird when Donald Campbell crashed in it - when they raised it the turbine impellers were all loose in the bottom of the boat ( magnesium mountings rot quickly ) and one of them i mounted in a display box... nice bit of history that :)

That I would love to see!

On another note, for those interested in record attempts, check out www.angelicbulldog.org.uk for a two wheel attempt. Gabriel's barking mad but needs all the support he can get
