TRCC new venue

As of 13th November Teesside Racing Car Club will be racing at their new venue, 38B Dukesway, Thornaby Industrial Estate.

At first we will continue with the carpet racing we have been doing recently but when we get settled we will expand to look at 12th scale and off road.

We are also potentially open whenever needed, not just Saturday nights.

I will post more details asap

which building on this Map ?

stewcc 31-10-2010 09:31 AM

Building

The unit just above the A in Jay Ave.
Why the address is Dukesway I dont know.
I will post full details soon.

Co-ordinates

The TRCC web site show the wrong building.
The coordinates are 54-31-02.03 N 1-17-27.59 W
or approximately
54.51732 N 1.29110 W

Its obvious when you are approaching the venue.

From the A19 turn off towards Thornaby at the Parkway (A174) junction.
Come to a T junction, light controlled but turn left on filter lane towards Ingleby Barwick.
Go directly across the Ingleby Barwick roundabout, take 1st turn on left (signed Industrial estate on very dirty sign).
1st right onto Dukes Way (Jay Ave). Directly across Allison Avenue and warehouse is on left (far end of building)

Is it as good as the warehouse was?

We have acquired a new warehouse for a permanent track.
It is not as big as the old one but will give a good sized track, lots of pitting and easy access.

Well. Everything now into new venue. Carpet out but we'll wait a few days before taping it down. Seems pretty flat already. Will report on Wednesday.
We have installed power to every pitting station but we are devoid of tables and chairs at the moment. So until further notice PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TABLES AND CHAIRS.

Remember FREE racing for members on Saturday following the AGM. Not a championship round so some drivers are trying modifieds / brushless in F1. Should be illuminating.

Best of luck with the new venue. I have fond memories of the warehouse and another permanent venue can only be good for the club and the hobby.

The scout hut wasn't that bad mind you... you should see how much smaller the venues I race in now are...

Looked in last night and it looks promising venue for the club.

As above 240v is available + Hot food and drinks

I may be tempted back racing again at club level next weekend with the F1 or Mardave Sidecar or both :woot:

Not sure about off-road cars running yet so check with the club or Stewart may confirm on here.

Wednesdays back again

Hi All

Just to let everyone know that the new venue is open on Wednesday night 17th Nov. for practice or just a general look around from 6pm to 8.30+. If you haven't been before please come and get help to set your car up or just to get advice from other experienced members. Track fees are £3 but you get the first three track sessions free if you are new to the Club - so no excuse not to give it a try. We are more than willing to help non-racers with car problems of any kind.

Buggy

Hi I'm new to racing, I recently bought a tiger thunder phoenix 2wd 1/10th buggy. Looking to get racing and wondering if you'd be having buggies racing there? Are there any midweek racing there on a regular basis?

No streaming video. Decided to stay at home due to the snow. Not worth the a bump in the road car just to play with toys.

Just to let everyone know that we are racing on Monday the 27th December - doors open 12pm, racing starts at 1pm. So come along and try those new cars that you got from Father Christmas.:D:D:D:D
