Thinking of buying a Cougar SV - whar spares do I need?

Hi guys, I'm currently selling my current Losi XXX-CR (great car, which has served me well) in order to fund a new buggy. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a Cougar SV, but I was wondering what spares I should get with the car. Are there any bits that tend to break and that I should therefore have as a spare?

Also, do you get any of the optional link mount plates with the kit?

Cheers!

Things I have replaced in the past 6 months:

O-rings (for wing mount tend to deterioate fast)
front bulkhead from a high speed headon cracked
male diff snapped where locking grub screw goes in
offset ballstuds on steering linkage snapped
bent turnbuckle upgraded to titanium
idler changed due to o-ring breaking and pin slipping out

lots of other things been upgraded but not broken

It seems pretty strong otherwise

Cougar SV

Only thing I have broken are the wing O-rings...Havent bent or popped a ball joint yet-I'm running all std. I've ran 8 meetings with the car.

Advisory things would be to have maybe spare castor blocks as if you do snag a pipe etc hard they will prob break first. Also a spur gear as if you run the slipper too loose it is possible to melt them.

You do not get the optional front links with the kit.

Also make sure you have a strong servo-as anything too weedy will defo strip gears in the cougar.

Thanks guys, sounds like the usual suspects.

I would also upgrade the bearings in the gear box.

That's a thing you need to do...swap the bearings.

But i found out that the sizes in the manual sometimes not equal to the bearing size that fits the car !!!

I found that the part number quoted for the bearing on the spur gear side of the diff is wrong. When I got the optional ceramic one it was too small. It should be the same size as the one on the opposite side otherwise the slipper can tilt as well as rotate. The part numbers are:

The manual in exploded diagram says U1439/U3387. I ordered the ceramic U3387, but found it is infact a U3386 that is needed. (The U3387 internal diameter is too large and as a result the shaft rattles up and down inside the bearing.

In the actual manual of the step placing the apparent U1439 it doesn't give any dimensions so I'm assuming it is really a U1411 in the kit you install initially

Hope that kind of makes sense :)

That bearing is a 5x8, most of the other bearings in the gearbox are are 4x8

Hmm, this list is getting longer... Seems pretty poor to be honest for what is supposed to be a top notch car.
