Rear setup for FS
 

Guys

Few questions on the rear setup on FS. Got all most of the sets from Petit RC and are struggling to make head nor tail of how it all works with the antisquat.

Was wondering what everyone is running? and also some help in what c in or out is etc? What are they also running on the front?

Put in a 7.5 what sort of pinion should i be running?

hi mate the c in out thing is the inserts in the rear hangers you can turn them round or put different letters in for different rear toe and widths,what setup are you after indoor or outdoor astro?? on a kit spur 78t with a 7.5t id guess about a 21t pinion

What mattb says, all to do with toe, antisquat is done with the spacers under the blocks.

As Matt says, tell us a bit more about the track your running on and we will do our best to get you in the ball park :)

As for the gearing which motor is it your using? I run 21/78 on a 5.5, 23 or 24 / 78 on a 6.5 and 27 or 28 on an 8.5 ... guessing a 7.5 would go in at about 25 ish.
My motors are Speed Passion V3.0 and I'm quite easy on motors so can gear higher than some.

i use x12 motors so i cant go anywhere near as high as that with my gearing or there would be flames for sure lol

When I see RogerM gearing, i am surprised;
I used 24/78 on an 10.5 (SP V3) and 17/78 on an 6.5 (just 1 run). I was not very happy with the result. I was completely wrong. I'll try 24/78 on an 6.5 and i'll be back. I should buy another pinion for my 10.5. Please could you tell me which one ? Thanks

using nic caro setup from worksop indoors series early this year. But will keep looking it and maybe it will click but not holding my breadth. Think will have to go to worksop and see nic etc for advice.

Billybou ... I'd start with a 22 on the 6.5 and around a 28 on the 10.5 if I was you as I am very easy on motors and some people get them toastie on my gearing if they are more brutal on the throttle.

Windy, post up a description of the track (surface, layout, jumps etc.) and which setup your starting with and we will try to guide you through.

The car is hugely adjustable which is brilliant when you understand it but I can see how some people look at the setup sheets and think "wow, too much to take in!".

I have done my first test with a 22 because i don't need to cook eggs with my motor... It seems to be not the same motor. I 'll continue to increase with a complete surveillance of the motor temperature. I'll do the same with my other motor.
