Pin

I filed the ends to a slight point , then push and wiggle , it gets easier the more you use it I found

I had trouble with mine, the holes in the plastic holder didn't quite line up with the holes in the bulkheads.

It took p***ing ages but slide the pin in the spur holder on it's own angling the end of the pin down so it takes shavings out of it. Eventually it'll fit and it'll get easier the
more you use it.

I had trouble with mine.
I ended up removing some material from the bearing side of the spur gear holder using the sanding drum in my dremel.
Be careful not to remove to much though or else you will have a sloppy spur gear.

Same here.
Sounds silly, but looking through the hole to see what's going on with everything in place without the pin helps, and will convince you that this is in some cases the way to go.
