B44 spares - absolute necessities

Which parts will I most definately break on the B44 this winter? Just purchased this beauty, and I need to stock up on my spares.

Front wishbones
rear wishbones
front kickup/bulkhead
Possibly front shock tower if you dont have a thicker one than std

You might lose:
Front spring retainers (these are special offset ones)
They are strong though!

RPM Ballcups are MUST HAVE! :thumbsup:

Front wishbones without a doubt!!
You can use the b4 shock shafts,the b44 ones snap like a carrot!

Diff ring gear as well just in case.

I broke so many front shock shafts I bought a bigger bumper which covered them.

B4 front shafts are shorter than B44 ones

RPM Ballcups are MUST HAVE, I agree. Got boatloads of them in my bag for my B4 aready.

I bought Atomic Carbon shock towers. They were about they same price as an AE ones but a bit thicker.

I've had 2 front top decks break where the front camber link attaches - admittedly this was collision damage but still seems to be a weak point. I believe Fibrelyte do a thicker front top deck though not sure how much it is.

Apart from that - the same as everyone else.

Front wishbones
Diff gears (I think Nitro TC3 ones may be stronger?)
Front shock shafts and spring retainers.
Front shock tower - although mine is 5mm thick so little chance of breaking that one!

Fibrelyte also do an exactly copy, but in 4 or 5mm thickness for £14

The b4 shafts are around half the price of the b44 ones

you can yes, but I'm sure the cost is the same for like for like... I'd advise screwing the eyelet all the way on else the next problem will be them popping out due only 2 threads inside...

The B4 came in a non-FT version which had cheaper shafts. the FT unobtanium ones cost the same as the B44 gold ones.

I wouldn't fit 1 B4 shaft and 1 B44 shaft. that's asking for trouble. Yokomo do some which are a direct fit and don't break as easily as the AE ones.

fit the losi shock shafts intead they don't break!!!!:thumbsup:

One thing people forget is the shock shaft ball ends. Reason is, when the shaft breaks it tends to leave a bit in the ball end which you'll struggle to get out trackside. So my advice is get some of those too.

Give us a part number for the Losi shafts buddy

A5060 is the 0.6" Gold shafts, which run in the front of Losi buggies

Got a few more things I would class as essentials above what has already been mentioned - Wing mounts, and wheel nuts front & rear are a must. The nyloc does give way fairly easy so would be good to keep a packet of both on the pitbox at all times....

Bit of an obscure one this but would be good to keep a packet of roll pins for both the driveshafts & centre drive shafts, although the chances of losing them whilst running are very slim at best as they are held in place by a grubscrew & collar, I did manage to lose a pin out of one of the centre drive shafts... Luckily I managed to scrounge a pin otherwise I would have been goosed.
