shark gearing help

Hi

Whats a good gearing to start with on shark st lwb with novak mongoose on 10.5

Cheers

depending on the track and tyres you are running, anything from 10-49 to 11-45 should be fine. any bigger pinion and it all starts to heat up a lot and it will be crazy fast

thanks for that i have tried 10/49 but it seemed very punchy the slightest touch on throttle and it was away

jim76 21-10-2010 08:54 PM

yeap, the power to weight ratio is silly in the micros. Maybe turn down the punch on the speedo if you have that option. Or maybe add a little bit of throttle curve through the transmitter profile?

yea i think i will try the throttle curve cheers:thumbsup:

I used to run 9/49 on my 10.5

Dombrasky 03-11-2010 09:14 PM

Ive run 10\45 for over a year now on a 10.5 and it works well,it revs a bit at caldicots big straights where i run at about 90-100% throtle end point, at club rounds at worm i use about 85%,temps are always warm to touch which is a good sign all is ok,i also run a yeah racing fan and heatsink ...HTH

In Sweden most racers run 11/49 with the mongoose 8,5. :D

gearing

i use 10/49 on my lrp shark extended with novak mongoose 8.5, and knock it down to 75% to 80% on my handset, and it stays pretty cool after every race, should be a great setup for the 10.5 also
