Great start man, I'm sure your car will be really nice once it will be done ;) !!!

Just a couple of questions ....
1 - Are you sure you want to use the philips type screws ?
Normally after a couple of losen/tighten action they will lose their head so you will become crazy in assembly/disassembly and you will need new screws.

2 - I see you are using some Hot Bodies D4 rims, probably at the rear; once you have completed the assembly can you please measure the rear width ?
This because I'm sure they will fit fine, but I think (not sure at all) they have a slightly differen offset so the make the rear a little narrower (compared to the discontinued kyosho W5027)

A part from that thanks for the photos and please keep going  !!!

Bye
Ema

Rear hubs - best option are the ultima rb type r ones or the same lazer zx-s evolution rear hubs. Its all on radiocontrolzone.

Not much has happend here, as i suddenly was sitting with two new cars.. i had to get race ready and race with....

I have done some small work with the car, body is painted and suspension arms are mounted.

The rear hubs HB are a fraction wider aprox 3mm and the offsett is 4mm different the HB will have a fraction smaller track with.
The reason i use them is because i use them on the other buggy at the moment :) and i get a nice price on them..

Looking good. You really do need the correct rear hubs as the handling will not be as good with a wider rear end.

Lazer zx-r 11-03-2011 08:04 AM

The hubs on now are the "original" ones. The car has not been used indors with the HB hubs.

This car is now "for sale" if anyone wants an "okay" Lazer ZX-R with spares

Welshy40 15-03-2011 12:03 PM

Why are you selling it. You must want to run it properly and this car is almost bullet proof as long as you have the alloy wishbone holders.

Also where did you buy the bearings from as the blue sidewalls look superb, and will be after a set of two for my ZX and ZX-S as they are blue bling.

Lazer zx-r 15-03-2011 12:52 PM

The bearings is this sett:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Kyosho-14pc-1-10...item3353d274ab

I used the sett they have for my Inferno 777 and they are of okay quality. Not any worse than sets that cost 3 times as much. olso used it on my Cyber 10B++

I have been looking for å lipo tray for the ZX-R, i think i remember reading about one. But cant find that "post" again. and am now wondering if i can make the one from the B44.1 fit.

isobarik 15-03-2011 01:42 PM

Regrding the lipo i think that welh is on it ....so wait and see.....

Yes im designing a lipo tray for saddle packs. Will hopefully be posting pictures soon when i get them. Im using associated B44 battery posts in my design.

moth898 15-03-2011 07:07 PM

I forgot to post pictures of the lipo saddles I installed in your zx-r chassis design. I simply cut lipo locator holes into the chassis and used schumacher body posts in the stock locations and it turned out perfect. I used a nosram saddle pack, perfect fit.

isobarik 15-03-2011 10:00 PM

Yeah moth it looked superb...with the lipos.

Moth can you pm me youre adress so i can send you the smoked :D cover...

Yes i know but i fancied doing the design for my chassis and with another design change with fibre lyte will fit the standard chassis to. Ive based the design on having zeppin brass cell hole plates, the trf511 based lipo sides on the outside of the chassis bolt ontop of the brass sides and the plate in the middle of the chassis has been milled at the bottom so its flush with the brass so it keeps them in even without cells. Ive also added two holes to the centre so it can be drilled to the chassis and if any extra weight is needed it can be bolted directly onto it, and as its centred in the chassis will mean the car will be balanced. Soon will be getting it and posting pics.

Lazer zx-r 18-03-2011 07:13 AM

Is the Lipo tray going to be made by fibre-lyte?
I was just abaut to order the shock towers... and thougt i might wait. if its a possibilty to get the tray at the same time.

Things have now changed, this car will not be sold...
I ended up selling all my Touring things.. and bought more buggy stuff...
I am now going to test it up agains my D4 WCE and use the same motor esc kombo in both cars. and se how tw lap times compare and how they ride..

witch of the front towers should i by? it will probably mostly be used indors or on a Artificial turf/grass track.

I prefer the Mount 1 (bottom right half circular) but hold fire for a week or two as Im now redesigning that a bit for more strength. The Lipo tray design has had three designs tested and I am not happy yet, so hope that the one coming to me next week is the finished design. Ive based this around my ZXR-S chassis under my name (possibly the one you have attached in the picture) but if your using the ZXR standard chassis I have to modify the centre section block as the standard chassis batt holes are in a different position, so that you can also use the Zeppin brass battery hole weights under your lipos as the are perfect for what we need.

Lazer zx-r 19-03-2011 09:11 AM

So the Zeppin brass balance weights made for Xray T2/T3 ?

another question poped inn to my head. If i use the chassis shown above the narrow one. Is it possible to use the LA-122 kamtec ZX-S bodyshell?

I will wait then, and se how the lipotray design turns out :)

And i have been on the lookout for the alu pivotblocks... but i have 4-5 sets of LA-30 so an accident or two i can live with..

isobarik 19-03-2011 09:29 AM

Yes the body sist better with welsh narrowed chassi.

mvh Isobarik

Welshy40 19-03-2011 11:52 AM

Yes my narrower chassis does make the shell and undertray fit, but i understand the orignal chassis does fit but you need a narrower servo.

Yes those brass weights are quality and soon i will post pics on my design so you can make up your own mind.

Lazer zx-r 19-03-2011 04:21 PM

took the time today. and made som mesurements of the HB rim VS W5027 (original)

Specs.

Hotbodies : with : 38mm offset: 9mm
KyoW5027: with : 35mm offset: 6,5mm

this means mounted the W5027 have 5mm wider trackwith mesured at the center of rim to center of rim.
And since the HB rim is wider in total 3mm the trackwith from outside to outside of the rim gives the W5027 a 2mm wider trackwith.

So actualy if i use the HB rims the rear will be a fraction norrower than it is with the original ones.
