mobile phone numbers question

Can you take out a new contract with a different network while you have an existing contract (5 months left) and then swap the numbers over so you have your current number on your new phone while the old phone just waits to be cancelled?

You will only be able to Port that number over at the end of your Contract unless you finish that existing Contract early.

However there is nothing stopping you having a new Contract, just wont be able to Port your number over until the 5 mths are up! :p

Hope that helps!

I was thinking about having a iphone on tesco as they seem to have the best deal and a 12 month contract, but the O2 signal here at work is non-existant and since I spend most of the week here I'm not sure that would be a good idea.

I'm on orange now so think I might stay here. cheers Gem

Im sure you can buy yourself out of your contract, that could be an option.

Oh right, thats not good. Good Choice :) Plus you can now use Tmobile network alongside Orange, not sure if youve opted in to have it, but basically if you have no Orange service, and there is available Tmobile service youll roam onto it, doesnt cost you anything extra etc x:thumbsup:

I think you can, but you have to pay your line rental for all the months remaining in your contract. not sure if that includes the VAT you would normally pay each month or not.

I haven't really looked into it. I was only thinking of leaving Orange because Tesco had some more appealing offers on the iphone 4.

Yeah you would have to pay the Line Rental for the rest of the contract, and also think there may be admin fees etc.

Oh right, no worries, well I can recommend it, its really good, especially if you suffer from alot of dropping on the network, :woot:
