rears with a hex?

what 2wd buggies run a rear hex?

i got a load of wheels/tyres from ebay in a massive lot, and some of the rear wheels have a hex and my losi doesnt :(

jim76 26-09-2007 09:17 AM

RB5.
maybe old schumachers?

antnee 26-09-2007 09:23 AM

hmmm, thinking it might be the RB5, are the hexes for a RB5, just like most TC's where they just push on?

dallasv8 26-09-2007 09:43 AM

tamiyas run a hex

jim76 26-09-2007 11:06 AM

they do just push on yes, litle plastic hexes. you may need to be careful with the offset if you want to run them on a B4 etc. I'm not sure if the hex will fit over the axles either, hopefully someone else can confirm that for you.

antnee 26-09-2007 11:25 AM

just had a look and they are bigger than TC hexes

terry.sc 26-09-2007 12:08 PM

Sounds like Schumacher wheels, they use a much larger narrow hex. Tamiya, Kyosho, Academy all use a standard 12mm hex, same as touring cars.

lazerboy 26-09-2007 07:42 PM

yes, they are 12mm. The only hex's bigger than this are monster truck and 1/8th buggy(and the 23mm pro line's) this i do have alot of experience in, as all my cars have had hex's. On my neighbors rc10gt2 he wanted new wheels and tires, but he didn't want to pay for shipping. He bought some from me that had hex's with them. They only increased the width of his car by 1/8 of an inch.
here are the cheapest ones i found:

these have no way of staying on the axle pin, and often come off when you take the wheel off. These are much better about that:

Well your ovibously wrong, there is a size bigger than 12mm but smaller than 17mm(1/8th scale) as thats what these wheels are, as terry said schumacher did some

lazerboy 26-09-2007 08:35 PM

i was saying yes to terry's response. And as i said there is a size that is in between the 17mm hex for 1/8 buggy's, and the 12mm size for touring cars, This size is commonly used in monster trucks. It's about 14mm in size.

these all have a larger axle hole and axle pin, so it would be best to find the old ones.

lazerboy 26-09-2007 08:38 PM

i just went and measured mine, and they are exactly 14mm.(from one flat side to another)

antnee 27-09-2007 07:16 PM

just measured mine, they are 14mm, so does that make them old schuey ones?

lazerboy 27-09-2007 07:24 PM

maybee, i'm not sure, mine are from a t-maxx.

antnee 27-09-2007 08:49 PM
