I am amazed nobody has picked up on this.

Will it be like the photo, including all the new b4.1 parts and other extras? or is only the new shocks?

Paul_Sinclair 04-10-2010 08:26 PM

The photo on RedRC is of a K021 entire car kit built with the new AE V2 shocks. The photo does have the following extras which are not included with the K021:
*1226 lipo standoffs
*1241 servo mounts (kit includes plastic servo mounts)
*5560 brass flywheel

Will finally see the team using kit shocks?

Paul_Sinclair 04-10-2010 10:50 PM

I ran the V2's for both races this past weekend with good success; I know BK has sets for his buggies and trucks and plans on switching over soon.

Paul, what shocks do you usually run (pre-V2's)?

Thanks!

Big E 05-10-2010 11:37 AM

Got them on mine and feeling good so far and nice to know I'm not going to have oil all over the car after a run!!

Ellis, are you planning on running the V2's from now on, rather than the Losi's?

Cooper 05-10-2010 11:58 AM

The new math is kyosho shocks !

what set up have you pur on the shocks E??

and are you running ae or losi pistons

Big E 05-10-2010 04:03 PM

If they feel good, which early testing seems to show they are then yeah I will be running them from now on as with I believe a lot of the team.

Currently I am running my own tapered pistons I knocked up from the stock AE ones but I have some Ghea ones coming that I will test and if I don't like them then I may try Losi.

Currently #2's all round 35wt oil front and 30wt rear with a grey rear spring and black front but it's early days and I need some dry track time to test them on as well but the car was very fast at the weekend with them all on.

The main reason I am running them now though is the seals won't just blow out of them at random times.

I almost exclusively ran Losi shocks. I did try AE V1 shocks a few times quite a while ago but never got comfortable building them/bleeding them/etc.

Because it was wet and the track was as greasy as anything.I expect to be going up in rates in the dry a fair amount.

I know it's early days for you running these shocks, but are you running the same length shocks & mount locations as before? thanks :)

hi ellis

i know your a busy guy, but what advantage does taper pistons do? different rebound to pack?
im mainly an indoor man at worksop so which way would you sugest i go i curently have ass shocks with red losi pistons and about 10% of your skill :D

Big E 07-10-2010 04:51 PM

They give the compression advantage of an ae piston, as in they pack up quickly so are better to jumps etc but then have the rebound similar to losi so the shock recovers faster ready for the next hit :o

For Worksop it could well be worth trying them out especially if they have a load of jumps.

Any more feedback/observations on the V2 shocks Ellis? Cheers dude

Big E 15-10-2010 08:02 PM

Out this weekend again to try them with Ghea pistons.
