What is the difference sx sx2
Hi guys and girls, anybody know the difference between the cat sx and sx2 how many parts would i need to get for my sx to make it a sx2? o and is it worth it?:bored:

Big bore shocks, alot of the alloy parts on the sx were replaced with plastic on the sx2. You would probably end up replacing these so you would end up back at sx spec!!!!

The product listing on the schumacher site lists all the new/revised/improved parts in the SX2.
Basically though, you just need big bores and keep all the old alloy steering, pivot blocks and eccentrics off the old SX, as these are now all plastic |
If you do get an SX2 I'd get a cheap SX to then get all the alloy stuff as you will need it.
Alloy bits and titanium turnbuckles are a must I belive after seeing many SX2s bust with the plastic bits Then bank the rest of the remaing SX as spares. Mate of mine has done this recently after getting a SX for £110. I think we added up the alloy and titanium bits and there were getting close to the cost of the 2nd hand SX.. My SX is an original SX, but now with SX2 chassis and big bore shocks. The rest has been replaced as and when it has worn out / broken. Have to say my SX has been very good strength wise etc. |
Does an SX fit better in the BRCA width box than the SX2 would you say mikey?

My SX didn't fit as I was running 2mm washers at the front to widen the track width. Didn't think about it, so a dremel later I managed to get through scruntenering at the F345s. Did cause a last minute panic, so thanks to Mike Williams. SX2 has shorter front drive shafts so doesn't have the problem. I'll prob change the driveshafts early Jan as my current SX drive shafts are about 16 months old, so prob due a change! |
