Airbrush noob...
 

Hey you guys, anyone have experience or thoughts about either of these for an AB noob..?

I will be painting shells mostly using water base acrylic... will these be suitable for needle/nozzle size and working pressure? :blush: :confused:

I know it ain't, but it has a look of the (too pricey..) Iwat* jet series..!

You can airbrush with a spare tire and a pressure regulator attached to the valve stem, so really anything that supplies a consistent, clean PSI and doesn't wake the neighbors is a good compressor.

I use a 3 gal pancake compressor from Porter Cable that is used mostly by roofers for nail guns. A water trap and a pressure regulator and I can spray all day.



You don't need anything fancy unless you are in an apartment and want something über quiet and tiny.

as for the brush, it doesn't say but guessing by the model name it might be a .3 setup. I had a go with pactra when i first got my brush. That was a .5 and you needed to thin the paints a fair bit.
So if you do get that brush, buy alot of thinners to keep in stock. :)

Jon, you are a diamond... the compressor(s) I listed has, I thought, a reservoir thus providing a constant air supply as I thought that was important... is it?

ALSO can someone explain what nozzle and needle sizes do please..? :blush:

the nozzle and needle are matched, as in you have a set size needle for a set size nozzle, the bigger the nozzle the more paint, or thicker the paint will flow through without spluttering and all sorts.

For most paints I use 0.5mm is the minimum size, and with faskolor/createx most paints still need a little thinning down.
