you can see the slipper pads so I don't think there'll be a center diff

reg 20-09-2010 06:28 AM

it can still have a center diff and it looks like it has, having a slipper and center diff would be no different from a nitro having a clutch and canter diff, its another tunning aid to get the most of dusty loose tracks and astro

samd 20-09-2010 06:27 PM

Sorry for being daft, but what are captured CVDs?

reg 20-09-2010 08:26 PM

i think he means the lipo distroying pin is now covered:woot:

the pins are retained inside of a large inner bearing on the f/r hub; the cvd is physically in the hub. there are no grub screws, the large bearing holds in the pin - they are much more reliable and are less likely to fail (unless durango used tiny, baby pins again:bored:)

they are mostly used in 1/8 buggies and truggies because of their strength and reliability

it looks like there is a slipper and diff? i though rcmonster patented that?

HyperFX 21-09-2010 04:21 AM

Yep, center slipperential! Bring it!....and the DEX210!

So what is the difference (regarding the CVDs) to DEX410R and 2010 spec DEX410?

i am not understadning your question:

if you mean difference between 410r and 2010 410, they use the same, non captured grub screw 2.0 shafts - the CVD are outside of the hub

If you mean the difference between the 410r+2010 410 and the DESC410R, the DESC has captured pins, which are hidden in the hub and held together with the inside bearing, which in my opinion isfar superior. (hints why almost the entirety of the 1/8 buggy/truggy market uses them)

does this answer it?

That looks really nice! I wonder if the big bores on it will the right length for the 410 buggy, I def fancy a set of them!!

Mangan 15-11-2010 10:59 PM

The DESC410R has passed all the pre-prod tests and has been given the green light for production.
We now just need to check the final packing and sign off the instruction manual, if all goes to plan then the DESC410R will be shipping at the end of January
