not worried about price just what you feel is best ? and why thanks

Sticks or wheel?

For sticks it seems to come down to KO Esprit Universe or Futaba 3VCS
any further than that and it's very subjective.
For example I love my KO and couldn't get on with the 3vcs, in a similar way that some people prefer say a Samsung phone over a Nokia!

I use a Futaba 3gr 2.4gig set, its been great since day one.

Loads of people have commented on how nice it feels to use..

(Plus fantastic service from Ripmax when I did have a small problem, even though it was outside the warranty period!) :)

If you like wheel the Spektrum sets have some nice telemetry features, bit of a gadget but can be useful, no interferance on mine, must say though I grew up with stick sets and been thinking of changing because of this. Personal choice I guess but any 2.4 should be ok, my mistake was to buy before trying, so go and have a feel of some and then choose the most comfortable for you.

+1 on the Futaba 3gr, its been a great transmitter for me both with nitro & electric, its taken a fair amount of abuse but its been 100% reliable but receivers are painfuly expensive if you need one for a 2nd vehicle..

I have run the DX3R and that is an awesome set-up for a 'wheel' system. But, I couldn't get used to it so I went back to sticks. I have the KO Esprit III with a Spektrum Pro 2.4 module. You get the best of 2.4 with the excellence of the KO system. Every function you could ever wish for and very simple to use. The KO 2.4 module is good, but the recievers are damned expensive. I use the spektrum set-up and then I'm able to use different spektrum recievers to match my budget; the pro stuff for my race vehicles and the SR300 sport for my bashers!

thanks i went for a ko as i have ko now and love it. But also went for the the 409 recivier very small is what i need.

+2; bought a 3GR when my 15 year old FF3 developed some issues, and I'm as pleased with the 3GR as I was with the FF3. Works faultlessly, not too expensive and got all the settings I need easily accessible.

thanks got my son a 3gr it is good only little fault is there is no epa is not on a dial like the ko ... but a great radio

Spektrum Handset
 

Although I'm yet to race in a club I can recommend the Spektrum DX3s as a good mid-range option for a few reasons.

- Price, less than £150 including the 3ch telemetry RX
- Has features similar to the more expensive DX3r (which believed to be fantastic)
- Light in the hand
- Has telemetry (so you know if you're gonna cook your motor or battery or run out of power!)
- Easy to use and set up (I'm no genius being a newbie and survive with it).
- Big screen so easy to check settings

Never thought I'd move away from twin sticks for cars but like the feel of this set up.

Used it since December last year and no serious complaints as yet.

Hi just in case you didn't know
You can adjust the EPA on the 3GR in the menus and once its set you can also adjust the DR for steering during a race on the DT3 switch which I think is easier to use than the dial on the Ko :thumbsup:

3VCS works for me. Range is near unlimited, as in I can't see the car, but it's still under control. Battery in my handset is a HK £18 lipowhich lasts 15hrs on a single charge. Very easy menu's to work with. I don't think I've looked at the manual lol

3VCS with futaba 2.4ghz all the way, it's expensive but it is the bomb! I can't praise mine highly enough, I've had all sorts over the last 10 years sanwa, ko, spektrum and I have to say the 3VCS with futabas 2.4 is truly faultless
