Stupid screws?

Hey i just sttted building my madrat kit but i have some huge problems with the screws. I cant tighten them all the way. Ive tried all my allen wrenches and hex drivers but they are just spinning around inside the screws.

Have you had any problems like this?

Hmm i think its only a problem with the 4 screws in the front bumper. I just dont know how to tighten them :(

Mad Rat kit screws are pretty bad, I found that over time I rounded off a lot of them and the only way to get them out was to dremmel a slot into them. These days I've upgraded the screws on the entire car with stainless steel and where possible use cap heads as these use a 2.5mm key instead of 2mm - helps no end and takes all the stress out of needing to replace bits and not being able to get the screws out.

i found that n i replaced pretty much all of the screws.......pain in the back side ..but the quality is just no there

Benjab 10-09-2010 03:18 PM

My lhs has a lot of screws so its not gonna be a problem. Its just annoying that i have to buy screws!

Benjab 10-09-2010 04:02 PM

Just bought some expensive titanium screws.

Benjab 10-09-2010 04:16 PM

Oh my god what is going on!? These screws are just as crappy :(

ryan_93 10-09-2010 04:19 PM

it maybe that the screws are too thin or short for the holes in the car?

Benjab 10-09-2010 04:32 PM

No thy are same size as the standard screws. Man this is annoying :( i also ordered an aluminum hex driver with the car but its not in stock

sosidge 10-09-2010 04:33 PM

Are your hex drivers in good condition?

If they are worn you will strip the screws just as badly as if the screws are worn.

Always worth having quality tools to hand if you want to do a quality job.

PS A lot of the titanium screws sold for RC are pretty poor quality as well.

Benjab 10-09-2010 04:39 PM

I dont think the tools are worn. Ive tried many allen wrenches and hex drivers. Its really annoying that. Didnt get the hex driver that i ordered :( im always unlucky

bigred5765 10-09-2010 04:42 PM

Benjab 10-09-2010 04:47 PM
