Kipor Generator Repairs!!!!!

Right folks i know quite a few people run the Kipor Generators, so some info for you..

Mine decided to pack up on Sunday at the F2's, and with the help of Neil Tinsley still couldnt fatham out what was up with it..

Basically it cut out and i just assumed it was out of fuel... checked it and it wasnt :( tried to start it again, but nothing..

Neil checked everything, blocked pipes, carb and everything.. anyway after putting the genny all back together again it started up fine  but then stopped when i started her up back home.. :(

Had a look on here and on the web and found this place..

REB Small Plant Repairs

http://www.smallplantrepairs.co.uk/

I spoke to Richard, who stocks spares for these genny's and others, its all listed on the website..

Anyway after having a chat i decided the best thing would be to send it back to him to fix it..He suggested using parcels2go to send it to him, this cost me £6.99+VAT considering its weight.. a bargain

He got the generator next day, stripped it all down and then phoned me with the problem... the lobe had snapped on the cam which operates the valves so no compression or sommit... he had a replacement cam so fitted and set it all back up again and sent it out via Fed Ex last night and i received it back 9am this morning  He charged me £100 which included all parts, labour and postage... and is a damn sight cheaper than a new generator..

Now beat that for service.. awesome

He has seen this problem before... but it aint a common one, i was just unlucky.. all sorted now and ready to go again..

Any genny probs give this guy a ring

I said i would mention on here as i know alot use these generators, and know of a few who spoke to me at Coventry F2's saying there generator was playing up..

Cheers

Nick

yea, I have used this guy a few times with mixed results....in the end he appeared to do more harm than good to my genny and even returned it with a broken engine mount that snapped when he took the case apart.
