sanwa exzes 2.4ghz

Looking at getting a new transmitter and fancy the look of the Sanwa exzes 2.4gig..

Anybody that has one,
  • Are they easy to setup?
  • Whats the quality of them like?
  • Any problems with the transmitter or 2.4gig stuff
Ben

Ben,

I've been using the Sanwa exzes for the last 10 years (at a guess). Currently running a super exzes plus.

I know there is a new version of the super exzes due soon either R or X.

I've been very happy with the quality of them. Mine has gone to a lot of international races and never missed a beat.

Programming wise they are very simple. Possible to use with out using the manual.

Haven't run the 2.4 version of it yet, so can't comment in it.

MiCk B. :-)

I've used a Super Exzes for years, it's never let me down, menu's are easy to navigate - I use the Spektrum module which has never faultered.

Gets my vote

Dan :)

They are great Ben, but yeah a new version is due out this mth, the exzes x with the module built in and quicker latency! So either wait for that or buy my old one off me when I get the new one

I was told by Ripmax that the new X series wasn't going to be available in the UK until Mid December.
As the one Simon used at Stotfold is a pre-production one, Matt White has a preduction version which
he got from the far east.

Yeah currently the US is expecting (through Airtronics brand) September, Japan saying "delayed" and unsure of timing!

As Brian has said, I have an Exzes X and have had it for a bit over a month or so now. I tried to find out when they were available in Europe, with no luck, so bought one from Japan. I've only seen 2 production versions, mine and Andy Moore's.

I've been really happy with it. Build quality is very good. The"feel" in your hand is a little different to KO, and tbh, i'm still not 100% happy, but getting better all the time.

Matt, where did you buy your transmitter from?

And is this the old one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sanwa-Super-Ex...item2a09d3b69e

Ben

DaveG28 11-09-2010 10:57 AM

Yeah that's the old one Ben!

Matt, same Q, where did you find it, only places I tried said Sanwa did not have them yet?

Dave

I looked lots of places, and only managed to find them available from one place!

I got mine from Rc Champ.

Not cheap mind.

I'll drop them a note, Been g everywhere!

Except there ;)

and if you were to start looking again at other places, you might find that it's just turned up elsewhere ;) RC model are now listing it - a fair chunk cheaper than mine cost me. You can get various package deals on it. Mine had a battery pack with it (and charger that I can't use!!), but RC Model's comes with a cell holder.

Order placed with one of my usual places, now just down to seeing exactly how "live" their stock system really is!

This is a guess, but I think the structure is like the current model, and I'm pretty sure you can on that!

My package has been sent so hopefully that means they had it in stock, now just need to sell my FHSS-2 version!!

MattW 13-09-2010 09:37 AM

You can rotate the sticks like you can on most radios. Then the top of the stick is offset, so as you un-wind the top part it alters the angle that it sits at. It's the same as the older Exzes.

GRIFF55 13-09-2010 10:15 AM

sooo many questions i know! is the feel to it/shape still the same as the old exzes feels comfy!

MattW 13-09-2010 11:01 AM

Still same I think - although I didn't own an old one.
