Got my X6, need some bits!

HI Guys, got my X6! just giving it a re build and tidy up. need some bits if any of you can help me out.

Body Shell, Batt strap and rear wing mounts?

if you have any PM me.

been reading the threads and jimmys review, really looking forward to running it.

is there any essential spares unique to the X6 that are worth having in the pit box??

bigred5765 03-09-2007 01:04 PM

lesro is the place to get ur new spares and cars,

MHeadling 03-09-2007 01:55 PM

yeah gave them a call just have not got a batt strap in at the minute, so if any one has got one let me know!

is it worth having a rear shock tower as a spare?? my car has a cracked rear wing mount, do these go often, read about the losi mounts.

Big E 03-09-2007 02:10 PM

Think I have only done 2 rear towers in a year but it is worth having one, never done a wing mount though, I thought they were pretty much bullet proof!!

cheers for that Ellis, saw you at EPO with the X6, went really well, do you run a batley type set up there?

thanks for the info.

I run the x6 here in the states. I keep in my spares box an extra nose/lower front plate, a rear shock tower, and trans rebuild parts (my local track is a loose dirt outdoor track and dirt does get in the opening at the bottom of the trans sometimes) other than that, make sure you do the bk2 cvd axles with the b4 cvd bones and you should be set in my opinion.

Hi Mark,

To be honest I don't really change my set up that much at all so yeah, Batley or Bury or any other tracks set up :D

it sounds like its my kind of car, give it a clean and chuck some charged cells in it! :D

MHeadling 04-09-2007 08:11 PM

Just giving the car a re build, and was wondering what spacers and sizes do you use to space out the rear wish bones on the hinge pins?

is at an associated part you use or a x factory part?

super__dan 04-09-2007 08:27 PM

You get washers supplied with the kit, but any ones will do as long as equal either side.

MHeadling 04-09-2007 09:22 PM

i was thinking of using the associated plastic ones you space rear hubs with? should do the job.

Do you space the wish bone in the middle?

bigred5765 04-09-2007 10:17 PM

depends on the track really, its quiet a good tuning aid, we ran short at silverstone and long at stotfold,I'm sure ill find some were for middle ,lol

super__dan 04-09-2007 10:21 PM

I almost always run short both inner and outer. In fact When I change it I only change outer so the inner ones are shimmed to the front and forgotten about for me really.

MHeadling 11-09-2007 09:56 PM

thanks for the replys, I have shimmed the wish bones in the middle with associated plastic washers, the rear hubs are shimmed to the front on the arm.

on a side not I am fitting B4 posts to mount the servo, any ideas on drilling the holes? I was thinking of putting a bit of paint on the bottom of the servo posts and marking it and then drilling chassis? any other ideas??

Want to think about the best way before driling holes in my chassis!

bigred5765 11-09-2007 10:04 PM

add the mounts to the servo, then position as u wish,i have mine as fare back as i can mark from on top with a small thin sharp object IE needle etc, then drill from on top, and counter sink the bottom

Chrislong 13-09-2007 06:15 PM

Like Carl says, thats how I do it.

super__dan 13-09-2007 08:23 PM

I do it with a marker pen, just to be radical ;)

Also I have it a couple mm off being against the cells so you can route the servo/speedo lead to the receiver there all nice and neat :)

MHeadling 14-09-2007 01:18 PM

yeah thanks for the info, i have got to dremel the area out a little more and mark the servo post, mmm paint i reckon!:D then she is ready for her first run! i will post some before and after pics of the re build.

bigred5765 14-09-2007 01:48 PM

no need to dremel the chassis if ur using the b4 mounts, but u do have to dremel the back of the servo plate at the back so it sits down over the servo
