Big Bores on X6?
 

Just wondered if any one has got any big bore shocks on a X6??

My losi shocks work great but seems BB are the latest must have, Yokomo ones would look v nice on a X6 :wub

I ran my X6^2 yesterday on worn grass with the Yoke big bores on seamed quite good, but the kit pistons are a bit small!

True, with the stock pistons the car stays TO flat. A 2wd needs to be able to shift its weight a bit to get good traction. Otherwise the car just becomes skatey. The stock pistons don't allow for that. I drilled the holes to 1,2.
Also tried 1,3 but by then the springs (even the orange soft ones) became to strong for the 1,3's and the car became "bouncy" and inconsistant, on a clay track anyway.

What springs and oils did you run in the Yok Bb??

What mods did you need to do to bolt them on? I take it just space out the shock bushings on the shock tower?

Do the AE shock bushings fit the yokomo shocks ok?

One more thing, any pics with them on the X6??

I used some transmission height shims to move the front shocktower a bit more forward, on the rear they just bolt on.

I mainly used the orange springs front and rear, but even they felt to hard. I also tried Losi springs, but they bind on the housing. Been using 25 to 30 wt oil.

I abonded the Yokomo's since someone lent them and I really didn't feel the need to ask them back, so I sold them to him.

Maybe I'm going to try the kyosho units later on, but the yokomos just lacked a decent spring / piston range for dirt use on a 2wd.

Maybe sch big bore could be good?! I'll get the purple bit re done on blue perhaps?!

The spring/piston range would be better suited for 2wd, must be being national champ!!

I tried the Schumacher big bores last weekend. (Rough clay track)

Felt really good. The car was really steady on the straights and out of corners. Perhaps a bit to steady going into the corners. The stability on landings was great.

We didn't test long enough to realy tell if this is faster. It felt a realy safe.
