410R, 1st run breakage.
 

Ran my 410R for it's first run at Batley Buggy Club.

The car was great, only problem was I broke a rear suspension hanger, and damaged the rear-front one too when the car rolled on the concrete pulling out the suspension / wishbone.

I always thought these parts would be the 1st to go as the wishbones look tough as nails.

I priced up the alloy hanger set, and bailed when I saw the prices, it would around £100 for everything i'd need front and back !! Went for another plastic set instead :(

Are there any alternatives out there, anyone made their own, or strengthened the plastic ones ?

No way, it wasn't quick enough with the 6.5, ordered the 5.5 today :)

It rolled in a low speed part of the track when it broke, it landed on concrete though...

I'm going to try to mend the broken hanger and put some think carbon fibre over the damaged areas, and drill it, so the suspension bar passes through the carbon fibre, then into the hanger, just glue it all up and it should be pretty strong.

I've had loads of HEAVY crashes on grass/astro and haven't broke any rear hangers. Could have been one of those 'odd' accident where it just connected with the concrete wrong.

I broke a F/F hanger at south port when I had a relatively 'light' impact with one of the concrete track markers. But I had a new alloy one ready as I knew this would break at some point.

The problem with the rear one is that you would have to get the set for the anti-squat. I don't know anyone that runs the 0deg to be honest so just getting the 2/4deg should do you.

I'm just getting bits here and there for the R and slowly upgrading rather than spending all in one go.

I know 3 people that use the 0 block :D

yA REARS are really hard dare I saw awkward to break. I broke the front one twice in the same day, bought the ally version...problem solved nothing broke since.

Yeah, I broke the FF one on my second meeting with the R, alloy replacements just on the front. I'll keep the rear plastic ones for now.

I'm not impressed with the (new!? improved!?) ball cups though, the steering ones pop off all the time, even brand new ones. I've even had both Left and Right sides pop off in one hit! Going to have to try RPM ones.

yeah the ball cups are a joke i solved that by using the kyosho cups and ball studs!! problem solved...
