Architects

Bit of an odd one for an RC forum, but...

I need to squeeze another bedroom into my flat. I've drawn some plans up but would like an architect to have a look over them to make sure I've not done anything stupid regarding building regulations or whatever. Can anyone recommend anyone? I've contacted a few local ones and them all seem to want to make a big job out of it! It shouldn't be more than a couple of hours work I would of thought.

Cheers folks

Rich

If you've got some drawings that are pretty neat, i.e. not simple sketches just give your council a call and ask to speak to building control. You should be able to arrange an appointment to discuss your idea.

For info architects are like yellow wheels ;)

A large part of build regs is health & safety, fire doors, doors opening, space, light, escape.

Are doing the work yourself or expecting a local builder to do all or part, good builder should know what is allowed, and may see ideas you have missed.
