lrp speedo and novak motor

As it says above i have a novak motor and an lrp speedo, and would like to know if they are compatible and would normally work together. As i have just tried them out and they dont seem to be working. I get power and everything but the motor doesn't seem to want to work. So if anybody has any ideas then it would be greatly appreaciated.:)

They should work fine.

Well beacause it didnt work, i realised it was still in the brushed setup so i tried the brushed motor and it worked fine. But when i tried to change the mode i wasn't able to get into the setup. So when i hold down the mode button, no matter how long i hold it down it still doesnt work. I think it may be the battery pack being a little low on power so i will try it when it is charged.:)

lrp speedo brushless and novak motor works fine

LEGEND 27-08-2007 08:24 PM

But in that case something must be wrong with my speedo because it will work fine with a brushed motor, but it just wont let me change the mode to run a brushless motor. I will have another look, but if it still doesnt work then i may have to take it back to the shop so he can send it off to get it looked at. But the last time i sent one off, it cost me 100 pounds to replace it. :( so hopefully they will be able to sort it out, with minimal costs.

There must be a fault with either the motor or the speedo (or the wiring?).

I run an LRP Sphere TC and a novak 4.5.

Im running LRP TCSPEC + Velo 6.5rS, working perfect, just hooked it up and out runing..no problems at all

As everyone else says it defo 'should' work.

However I know on the Novak GTB it says (several times) not to under any circumstances run a brushless mtor connected when in brushed mode setup. In fact it specifically says not to have the sensor lead connected.

I assume there is a reason for this and so I fear you've blown something in the speedo that's needed for it to work in brushless mode by have the sensor wire connected.

I think you may be right Dan.:( Anyway i sent it off a couple of days ago and will hoefully find out the damage that has been done to it.

Sig needs changing :D 4.5 now

Still did good with the 4.5, are you going back to 5.5 in your B4 when you get your speedo back?

LEGEND 02-09-2007 10:13 AM

You know, now that i think about it, i think that i may leave it in for a while and just run my 4wd with a 5.5 until i can drive it, without being all over the place. But i was just loving that speed down the back straight. It was just awsome. If the track had been all carpet last night then i may have been able to get 14 laps in. The car was just on-forme.:D

josh_smaxx 02-09-2007 10:48 AM

Im really happy i got 11 laps in, thats probably my record even on carpet, my car felt well good last night, shame about motor issues. I seriously *hate* brushed, need my brushless back, even if it is illegal.

I think thats a given, with carpet wouldve been much easier but its a nice change and finally getting a bit used to it, only bit I dislike is the big jump onto the left turn as its easy to flip the car with the pole there

I didn't think the floor was especially slippy, there was more grip than there would be at Batley indoors on a cold day. It made a nice change to the usual carpet :)

For me it was, bearing in mind i drove a 2wd buggy first in march this year and i have never driven on a floor like that..... starting to enjoy it though.

tc2k 02-09-2007 07:05 PM

Well I dont knwo if its just me (probably is) but the slippy felt alot less slippy than the other week. Its probably a case ofus adapting, we're used to huge grip and when we go to Batley its a bit of a struggle to change, but I definately think Im getting used to it.

gazbaz2 02-09-2007 10:24 PM

And we might change it again, so it will be a little slippy-er than normal:D :D :D

josh_smaxx 03-09-2007 10:17 AM

We should have said its getting slippier
