I went shopping today at Schumacher....

to try and resolve my idler melting problem...

My 3rd idler went again. Ive tried lose slipper, tight slipper and what I thought was a middle 'tight' slipper.

So ive just spent £50 with Schumacher on replacement spur gear, idler gear, small metal gear (forget its name, mesh's with idler gear) and replacement washer's & pins etc for the rear diff. £50 that I should not have to spend.

Yes I did buy two of everything as in all honesty I can't see the various problems of melting parts and warping spur's being resolved for me first time.

I cant believe that for the SX version 2 - which was meant to be the more improved and lessons learnt replacement for the SX, that so many people are having issues.

Yes bad batch of idler gears, but my replacement from Schumacer direct (yes free of charge) has also melted. Friday just gone my spur gear warped.

Yes I know its all interlinked, but getting the slipper clutch set should be easier than - a mm here or a mm there and you get a burnout :(

I spoke to Schumacher directly on Friday just gone - they didnt have a full solution and could only recommend that if one part goes I replace them all.

So the story continues, Im suer 1 day and £100+ later I may get this resolved... but no straight answers from Schumacher and everyone seems to have a slightly different story on how it went wrong for their set of gearing.

You've probably been asked but do you have any free play set between the pinion teeth & spur teeth when they are meshed?

or a lose/faulty bearing may be the case as what happened to me

What part number was the bearing ?

OK, so meshing to tight can be ruled out
