astroturf heavy setups......why?

comparing the setups from the US where they have hard packed clay, why do the Europeans and in particular the UK where astroturf tracks reign supreme, that cars have a very heavy setup? I'm talking 100-200 grams over the limit.

whats wrong with having minimal weight setups on astroturf?

PS have never driven on astroturf:confused:

very very high grip

Astro turf is or can be a very high traction surface. It also does not tend to have directional grip and so when cornering the car will often bite in and roll over.
The cars are run with weight low in the car in order to put a larger proportion of the cars mass low down essentially moving the centre of mass lower in the car. This can be an issue with buggy's as a lot of weight can be found high up in the car, shocks and shock towers as the prime offenders.

so the main reason is to stop traction rolling I gather.
