Truggy steering, which of these servos?
 

Which servo would be best (last longest) in an 1/8 truggy on steering:

Ace DS1015 Only rated at 4.8v????
Futaba BLS 452 (0.14/14kg)
Hitec HSC-5997TG (0.14/13kg)
Hitec HS-7955TG (0.15/24kg
Hitec HS-7954SH-HV (0.15/24kg)

BTW im using a Li-Fe pack (6.6v)

I use an ace, might be the one listed but I know it had 14kg of torque and I found it good.

There's not much speed difference to those hitecs you listed and perhaps if it was me I'd prefer the extra power - but like I say, the ace was fine.

Ace = fine in a truggy, plus gear sets are cheap.

Futaba do a 351BLS with 15.6kg torque if you want something a bit more meaty - the 452 I'd run in a buggy or a truggy but if you're buying new of the 2 Futaba options I'd grab a 351.

You don't really want a high voltage servo with a li-fe pack - they're intended for unregulated li-po so you won't see the benefit

How about the BLS452? Not much more money than the Ace and on the Futaba site they list it as a car servo, I dont hear about people using them though, why is that?

As I said, it'd work fine - spec is similar to the Ace. But if buying new the 351 is intended for truggy steering.

The Futaba brushless servos had some reliability issues when first launched, plus apart from JE spares I'm not sure who actually carries stock on the shelves of them. I know someone running a pair of 451 in a buggy with no issues, after lunching a number of Savox and Ace servos, with no issues.

As with anything new there will be teething troubles - hopefully now resolved

Sorry must have been replying when you replied. fast-lad.co.uk sell the BLS452 for £64.80 is the reason I am interested in them, for some reason they sell the Ace 1015 for £71.99! I can get them elsewhere for £60.

Those 2 aside what about the Hitec HS-7955TG with 24kg of torque for £63?

I don't like Hitec on reputation, but it's pretty marmite - some people swear by them, others swear at them :thumbsup:

The difference in price is probably down to the age of the stock - Ace prices have gone up A LOT lately, so unless they have them on the shelf you probably won't get them at £60 any more. £70 is the going rate for the BLS range, except the 351 which is nearer £100
